I thought that the Hulkenberg penalty was harsh; yes it took out Lewis Hamilton but it was under tricky conditions; these sort of rulings will stifle racing as drivers will think twice about making an overtaking attempt for fear of being penalised. I thought it was double standards as well; I feel that if Hulkenberg was penalised, Vettel should have been penalised as well as he did chop across the front of Senna taking the Brazilian out of the race, but alas that was conveniently ignored; another case of "the only thing consistent about FIA stewardship is inconsistency".
Yeah, the downshift caused him to spin and hit Hamilton. He held the line the best way he could. It is a racing incident, the one I felt bad about, but that's racing...
