Raikkonen hails 'fantastic' F2008

Kimi Raikkonen has hailed the performance of the new Ferrari F2008 after three days of blistering form in Bahrain – predicting the challenger has the potential to go even faster.

The Maranello-based squad’s latest design completed a highly impressive test at Sakhir, with Raikkonen setting the pace on all three days with a best lap time that was around a second faster than the benchmark set during last year’s race weekend.

I find it quite interesting (and also exciting) that the Red Bulls have been at the top several times, though I'm not sure if they did that on very low fuel runs or not. Still, it's good to see they're at least capable of such lap times. :)

williams are looking the surprise most often in testing,

the mid field battle is going to be the one to watch this season

Yep, and again, it's a Williams that tops the sheets. Is it just me or are they looking stronger than we had all expected? They have outperformed some superior cars on several occasions, though it is only testing and the conditions haven't been as good as they could be, but still...

Anyone catch Alonso's comments on the BMW's testing times? He's saying they are just behind the McLaren's with lots of fuel in the tank.

I would very much like to see BMW do well, simply because I like Mario Theissen's approach...

I think Alonso's trying to hint to Flavio that he doesn't like his new car and is probably trying to tell Flavio he wants a BMW drive in 2009.
