Nakajima crashed today (hope that's not a sign of his wreckless side that he showed in GP2) and Rosberg only did a few laps before Naka crashed and Williams stopped him going out for the rest of the day. The Honda still looks desperately slow, Toro Rosso are looking decent.

At the end of the day though you can't take too much away from the tests. :)

I think its a great idea, perhaps also show where they were to keep track of team progress.

Naka's crash was said by the team to be a failure in the mounting of the front wing.... that's why Nico didn't run.

McLaren and Ferrari appear to be the cars to beat, thus far anyway. BMW still have some gremlins to sort out. To be honest, their performance up to now has been something of an anti-climax. Williams do look good, however. I'm not say they'll be race winners, but the car looks very solid and shows they are getting back to where they belong: at the very top of Formula One.

(from autosport)

Barcelona circuit officials had to close the entrance to the spectators grandstand facing the McLaren garages today, after local fans were constantly howling abuse at the Woking outfit.

Spanish fans, believing their hero Fernando Alonso was treated unfairly by the team last year, have continually expressed their displeasure with McLaren both at Valencia and Barcelona in preseason testing.

This included shouting of profanity at Alonso's 2007 teammate Lewis Hamilton, hanging unflattering banners, and even throwing junk towards the McLaren cars as they left for the track.

Initially, the Barcelona track organisers sent security guards to the grandstands while McLaren team members did their best to ignore the abuse.

However today, following another escalation in the fans' behaviour, the team asked the track officials to shut down the entry to that specific grandstand in order to get on with their work undisturbed.

A source at the Barcelona circuit told autosport.com this involved "a minority of fans that were behaving unsportingly and tarnishing the reputation of the Spanish fans, who simply come to the track to follow the sport they love."

Asked about the situation, a McLaren spokesman told autosport.com: "Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has raced and tested on Spanish circuits for many years, and everyone connected with the team regards Spain and the Spanish people with great affection, Lewis included."

Fisichella seems to be reel pissed off! Just 0.126 seconds behind his former teammate Alonso in Renault and fourth quickest time overall...

God, how much is a guy able to overperform in a mediocre car!!? Forza Fisico

It didn't get any better today. Alonso needs to say something to his fans. All test times are getting closer, even Honda is closing the gap even though still off pace

Probably a light fuel load, but again it's only testing times, I remember Minardi's were setting 3rd and 4th fastest times at this time back in 1999.

Hope the new Williams goes better at Jerez and carries on from it's fine debut a few weeks ago.

This racism problem must be stopped, the only way to deal with a situation like this is act harshly. I think Bernie should threaten to ban F1 from being held in Spain for 10 years unless the racism situation is sorted out. An added bonus of having no Spanish GP would be not having to race at the crappy-boring Catalunya circuit.

I suspect this is the result of a very passionate country that got addicted to the winning, perhaps it became what they needed as a people for strength. When they felt Alonso's championship was taken away from him they felt it was taken away from themselves and acted from passion. The weaker fans just used the difference in skin color as the easiest most obvious target to justify there loss. So I highly doubt this really has much to do with racism in itself. If Alonso would have won they would have viewed Hamilton much more differently.
