I have great respect for your opinion, Zurich Allen but on this occasion, I simply can not agree, if politicians had to fight the wars they start, there would be no war, it's easy to send other men and women to fight commercial and political wars, usually American led wars in recent times, often against public opinion. When you look at recent wars, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, these are self serving wars all about oil under the guise of liberation. If western governments are so concerned about making this a truly free World, why don't they go in and help war torn African countries?
I do however agree that war happens, especially in middle east/African nations, that's the way it has been for thousands of years as you pointed out; but western governments plod into what is part of the culture in these countries, interfering in civil wars. At the end of the day, it all comes down to oil for western countries. I'm not attacking civil servants; those people do a good job in general, it's the people at the top that I take issue with, sending our troops to fight in foreign wars against the will of the people they represent!
Afghanistan has oil?
