One car teams simple

that's an excellent idea!!

Thats a RUBBISH idea- there would only be 12 drivers on the grid. The races would be dull(er than when Vettel wins).

Who said anything of the sort? Define team and constructor and you'll get your answer.

It wouldn't work, look at the sizes of the top teams, hundreds of people working for two drivers, not just engineers but it staff and admin and HR etc. Now it's just not financially viable to have all this for one driver, one chance at a wdc, don't first the logistical cost and the cost of owning or hiring a building; and by the end of it all you've got no money left for R&D. Which would mean ALL drivers on the grid would be pay drivers.

I'm on my phone sorry for errors.

Again you're thinking of a team as a constructor, remove that thought. At the moment we have two car teams/constructors what I'm suggesting is still have the same constructor cars but split up the garages into two defined teams, different sponsors etc. so you'd still have Fernando and Massa in a Ferrari. This would also open up the possibility of more Ferraris on the grid but all fighting each other.

Equal treatment does not exist. For some reason "some" people feel a driver who gets team support is doing something wrong... eh... That would actually be a merit.
In fact, it's what everyone wants even when they say they dont; because everyone needs it. After all, F1 cars are not onesizefitsall. Typical example is the Lewis/Mclaren meltdown. After yrs of lying, it all came fwd.

Now... where lies Ferrari's strength?
Well, as a team, they can mute all that idle chatter and focus on their interests; because they know no driver is bigger than Ferrari. The rest of the teams, on the other hand... have to play the equal status bullsh1t, because they have to and because they can't afford to ignore the idle chatter.

I think what people need to remember is that like being a team is more than building a fast car. Being a complete F1 driver is more than being able to drive the car fast.

Thinking ahead at which team is about to become champions.
Building the team around you.
Know when to switch to PR mode, and know when to fight for your opinion to be heard.

I am sure there is more but I can not think of it at the moment.

Just quoted to agree :)

Basically, many people reduce "equal treatment" to "letting their drivers race". That doesn't even begin to cover it.

Edit: oh and by the way.. Ferrari issued a strong statement when they let Kimi go. And also, all this talk about Vettel going to Ferrari and so on, is quite a big statement to Fernando as well: Ferrari don't play no games son. ;)

So yea, nobody's inmune.

I had not thought of it as a kick up the butt for Alonso as well. Win a championship or Vettel will be sat next to you.

Oh hellz yeah. They don't need to be the source of unnecessary speculation.... but if Fernando has privileges, no matter what they are, expect for sure the team has means to get something in return. Ferrari have been in F1 much longer than Alonso.

It doesn't mean they don't support him or believe in his abilities. We all trust we're good drivers, and yet we still get car insurance hehe

I get insurance because the law tells me to. I also have to try and find companies that do Air Side cover incase and Aircraft is involved.

But you got your DL issued. Doesn't that mean you know how to drive ?

Because there are idiots on the road that make me crash

Those idiots have licenses too. And the law says you must never drive without a license.

There was a row going on in the USA recently about people complaining that the city puts those darned "deer crossing" signs on high traffic areas. The people complained, why not move these signs to clearer roads so the deer cross elsewhere and thus they'd get less accidents??
