Why should he hand his team mate anything? Hamilton finished 20 seconds behind Button who was chasing for a podium! As with all teams, the constructors championship gets priority over the drivers and they had a shot at finishing 3rd and 5th rather than 4th and 5th. To tell Button so slow down and let Hamilton past would have been pretty daft especially as they are only 20 points ahead of Ferrari.

:yikes: I... agree with you. I hope you don't change your mind. :hehe:

Two points wouldn't have made squat bit of difference to Lewis going forward. McLaren knew they weren't getting past Kobi though.

Championships have been won and lost on two points. McLaren have been so desperate to keep Jenson's ego from impoding through insecurity, that they have missed what the team is there for. To win championships.

I'm I missing something with McLaren?

They seem to enjoy backing the wrong horse. Why?

The drivers championship is between Vettel and Alonso now unless both have a rotten run of luck. The sensible thing is for McLaren to concentrate on the constructors and try and secure 2nd.

Rather than securing first of course. Championships aren't McLarens bag these days it seems.

They would rather pander the fragile ego's. Why is Button so insecure?

But Jensons completely out of it and has been for months.

So is Hamilton (albeit to a lesser extent).

Jenson just can't bare to be told he's number two.

Seriously?! Not this :bs: again.

There is nothing to suggest that they are pandering to anyones ego. Simple fact is they are not fast enough and the best they can hope for is 2nd in the constructors. To do this they have to maximise every opportunity as they did today by letting Button try and chase down Koby and get 3rd. It was working but the race didn't have enough laps. Telling Button to slow down and let your favourite driver past would have been sheer stupidity as it would have totally screwed their chances of a shot at a podium.

Indeed an F1 teams that exists to go racing doesn't give a toss about winning.

Wait a minute, something ain't right there.........:hehe:

Why did Jenson now hand Lewis 4th then??

Hand Lewis 4th? He'd have had to fully stop the car, walked around for a bit, made some breakfast......... Lewis was far too behind to go down that route. And as Lewis said afterwards, it wouldn't have made much difference... 2 points at the end of the day.

It'll be a pity if Alonso loses the championship by less than say 20 points.

No it wouldn't. :hehe:

As it could mean that he lost it due to being punted out by Kimi. But that's racing.

Revenge from the Iceman after his time at Ferrari.:whip:
