I saw a car with a personalised number plate that ended in POO. Quite apt seeing as it was a BMW!

As promised here's a pic of the damage last night.

Jabberwocky wrote:Most of the cars that come with run flats as standard are supposed to be terrible on non run flat tiresThere may be an association between the tires and a specific rim? I've never looked into it.

Jabberwocky wrote:not read you link yet, but I just imagined that because of the harder tyre wall the suspension setup would neet to be changed. Not just that but the worst place to put weight on a wheel is at the tire since that creates the most rotational force, and run flat tires are considerably heavier. I'm sure there's also a false sense of security as how many people will actually bother to check the tire pressure since it "looks" fine from glancing at it.

I'm pretty damned good about checking my tire pressure and still fall into the trap of just eyeballing the wheel and saying meh, it's fine.

I mean when you think about it...tyres which can run at 80km/h while punctured, and crazy expensive and just not that big an advantage if you took care of regular tyres as they're supposed to.What's Burning? wrote:There is a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) inside every tire that does that for ya and reports straight to your dashboard.Jabberwocky wrote:not read you link yet, but I just imagined that because of the harder tyre wall the suspension setup would neet to be changed. Not just that but the worst place to put weight on a wheel is at the tire since that creates the most rotational force, and run flat tires are considerably heavier.
