I can see them scoring in the mid places to be honest with you, maybe 7th? it will be quit a funny battle with Honda & Williams :) but Toyta must prove themselves this season worthy of points...otherwise please jump of the roster and give another team a chance..such as Pro Drive, owned by David Richards, which i might add is a fantastic Man :D

Pro Drive won't be in Formula 1 because they won't build their own car. Their entry was solely dependant on being able to use a McLaren chassis with a Mercedes engine, effectively making a second McLaren team, but with different staff and drivers. Personally, a return from Minardi or Jordan would be much preferred to Pro Drive getting in.

I also agree with 7UpJordan - you're definitely underestimating Williams. They will be fighting with Red Bull and Renault all this season, maybe even BMW Sauber. Williams have and always will be a championship-winning team. Once they're fully back on track, you can expect them to be challenging the front two. And good on them - pure racers. :)

I completely agree too. Williams look to have made a big step forward this season and if Red Bull manage to find some reliability, they will be a very solid team as well. BMW have a few issues at the moment, but they have time to sort them out, probably by the start of the season and if not, a few races in. Renault don't look too brilliant, but towards the end of the season, I think Alonso's skill in car development will come in. I can't see Force India being anywhere near the middle of the grid, I think one of their drivers said that as well.

I agree with you also about the concept of customer cars. I never liked it and it was another crack-pot idea from Ecclestone and the FIA to try and get a few more cars on the grid, despite the ethos of the sport taking another blow. Minardi or Jordan should have been given the nod. Although they were small teams, they gave a lot to Formula One and had passion etc.

Williams and Red Bull will definitely be on the podium a lot in 2008. One thing that I feel comfortable in saying is that it won't only be Ferrari and McLaren drivers on the top step, and most teams will reach the podium (or fourth place) at least once this season. Exceptions being Toyota, Super Aguri and Force India. I expect Jenson to get one podium if there's a repeat of Shanghai last year. Just look how close he was in the RA107, and imagine what it would've been like if his car was even slightly better. It will certainly be a more competitive and interesting season.

But now that the customer car issue has been cleared up and it is definitely not allowed, they should be taking action against Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Super Aguri...

Absolutely. I'm really, really looking forward to this season, not just because McLaren look to be able to mount a challenge, but to see the intense battles for podiums, points and the midfield. It's going to be such a close that season that there are three, four, five teams maybe going to be vying for, say, third place in the constructors' title.

If the test times from the FW30's first proper run whilst on full tanks as well is anything to go by, Williams could well end up fighting the McLarens and Ferraris. BMW could do well the same if they fix their current issues and possibly Red Bull as well. Renault though have a lot of catching up to do.
