You get better value from an Android tablet for sure. But the Market place is like the wild wild west, compared to the app store. There's exponentially more harmful apps there. It's also not fair to say you don't get YouTube on an iPad it's just a downloadable app just like everything else.
I have to say though that after fooling around a week or two with a "phablet" I'm enjoying the format. I live on my phone, but I ALWAYS use a headset when talking, and do quite a bit of browsing on my phone, which even on a nicer screen phone it's still very limiting. So I've been using a Samsung Galaxy Note II and I'm loving the experience. Much more usable screen for browsing it's got a stylus which I haven't used yet for anything other than drawing apps but it works great and here's the capper.... it's got a 3100 MAH battery which makes it the longest lasting android device I've ever used, can go Friday night to Sunday night with normal weekend use for me!
The iPad is a good pick up and use device but it does have it's drawbacks, even more so with iOS6; no Google Maps and no YouTube, the lack of Flash support doesn't matter so much anymore as the latest versions of Android also doesn't support Flash any more, you'll get more for your money with an Android based tablet in my opinion.

"I don't want to be part of a forum where everyone has differing opinions." Boom...
