We can never know that now, can we? Vettel's and Grosjean's car stopped working because of the SC period. Here, Vettel had to do the drive through penalty. Maybe that caused the problems.

Haha, now thats childish. Maybe I can do one better. If Vettel had not done the drive through penalty, he might have crashed in turn 1 as his break could have over heated due to the speed he would have come into the corner with. Maybe it did not happen later in the race, but it could be because his brakes cooled down due to the drive through penalty. We can never know that now, can we?

But seriously, who do you think are correct here? You with your sofa F1 experience, or Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert, Anthony Davidson and the stewards (with their ex race car driver)? I think I just leave that one hanging....

As someone wrote, these stewards can’t be held accountable for what other stewards did or did not do in the past (unless, of course, they’re the same people).

Don't forget that even the best stewards make mistakes. They did, so many times before...

almost with every race that goes by ,ferrari and alonso gives me reasons, to hate them even more... :shtstorm:
You may tell me whatever you want about recent changes to the rules and stuff... but I watch F1 since 1994 and Vettel here did nothing that deserved a penalty, did anyone asked him, if he had the grip at that speed to turn tighter in the corner so he could leave some space, On the other hand alonso tried a dangerous move putting Vettel in a difficult position, if alonso backed off a bit, nothing would have happened. After all he had the speed to pass him somewhere else...
I know the tiffosi fans will attack me, for what I'll say, but it's my opinion that ferrari is the favorite child of fia for a very long time, and in their ground I wasn't expecting anything different...
I will respect the rules if they will be constant and non biased... ( they have not gave penalties for much more serious incidents).
 ps Also Alonso did not finished 3rd but 4th. I know team orders are legal now... I know every team has done it at some point, but in ferrari's case it is their routine. :vomit:

The sentence in bold is a load of rubbish - Massa had a LOT more degredation than Alonso, who passed him under normal circumstances. Ok Ferrari told Massa to not fight Alonso and make it easy, but it is something they should be allowed to do - Perez was catching at 2 seconds a lap, so why should Ferrari let Massa hold up Alonso?

Plus, it isnt like Massa was glued to Alonso's gearbox for the rest of the race, Alonso was consistently 0.5 - 1 second a lap faster than Massa in clear air and had he not had the qualifying problem would have been a long way ahead of Massa.

The sentance in bold is correct. The team order was, as is the usual case when Ferrari are screwing Massa, totally blatant.

Massa should really tell Ferrari where they can shove their F2012 and get into a team where he is allowed to race.

Perez is the most conscious new driver of the past 5yrs. Yea he can be fast, save the tires etc, but the guy is very intelligent and mature on track and off track. Solid guy. And he's doing Sauber good.

Are we even certain Massa will have a seat once he vacates the second Ferrari? I can't see anyone taking him...maybe Sauber. Peter Suaber seems to like Massa but Mr. Sauber is also retreating from the management of the team so any influence on drivers may be out of his domain.

Button makes the same as Lewis? Geez...that explains a lot (why Lewis is so p...ed off over this contract negotiation). I bet Ferrari would easily give Lewis €20m-25m just to poach him from their #1 rival.

Remember Button came on board with the #1 car. Today his contract would prob be like $7M

Good point about Ferrari trying to take him off their main competitors. Like i said, it would be a d1ck move from Lewis, but from the pt of view of Ferrari, pretty logical. IF they can tame the lion and the cobra.

I think if Lewis managed to win the 2012 WDC, leaving for red pastures may not be such a bad thing. He achieves his main goal for the year, he takes the #1 decal for his red car (which would irk McLaren to unimaginable proportions) and he gets a higher pay package. Lewis wins.

(I can't believe I'm sitting here partially rooting for him to switch to red overalls. Excuse me while I go have my melon checked.) :hehe:

Depends on the breaks. Qualifying 3rd and running 2nd until team orders and crappy tyres kicked in shows he still has it, when the team suppports him.

I disagree, his team mate started 10th, and caught up to him without team orders.
