I work at express scripts. We mail out prescription drugs. Chances are, some of you probably have our services with your health benefits from work. Right now I just sort packages for 8 hours a day. I just stand in one spot and do the same thing. I keep reminding myself to be grateful because a lot of people are out of work, and I make ok money for the "work" I'm doing. It is stupid simple and mindless

plus I get benefits and a 401k! However, I am trying to be a police officer right now and am in the running with two different local departments, but it takes MONTHS to hear back from these

so I am just in limbo at this dead end job right now. I'm not going to wait for a call from a PD though because my current supervisor spent 6 years with the company before making it to supervisor........so theoretically I'd have to be at the company for several years before making $10k/year less than a police officer's starting pay

so I'm going to try and get another security job. More chaos and moving around, meeting new people, dealing with wild sh1t...definitely a better "in between" job than what I'm doing now. Plus, with my experience I can make more money too, especially if I score a gig at a hospital. One of my former security coworkers was making $28/hour as a supervisor at a hospital. I doubt I'd make more than $16-$17/hr any time soon, but turnover in the field can be high so if I'm never a cop I can at least be a rent-a-cop making $20+/hr at some point
