1966. England has been getting excited over that for 46 years! Evey time there is an international match on the commentators start banging on about 1966 and Bobby Moore.

Of course we're proud of the achievements of our sports people (and of achievements in other areas) But that doesn't negate what LRW said about Brits being very self critical. We generally have low expectations and are the first to call out our errors and mistakes. Just makes the successes all the sweeter.

No. Thats my point. Im totally indifferent to '66. It has no baring or relevance on today.
My point is: are your friends (and by proxy you) that old to remember?
