Sheer class...you see the confidence in both drivers in each other to not f**k things up, best part of the race for sure. Reminded me of the old days, Mika VS Michael and all.

There is and should always be a rivalry between all drivers; everyone wants to beat everyone else regardless of machinery, if not, what's the point of racing?

I would love to see Alonso and Hamilton race in the same machinery again; it would be interesting and settle the argument over who is better once and for all. I believe Alonso is the slightly better driver, an opinion that has changed since the McLaren days; I despised Alonso at that point, but his matured driving has changed my opinion of the Spaniard over the last two years!

That was ace! It always is when those two go head to head. But Id give the nod to hamilton. Certainly Hamilton for qualifying and for me racing as well. Id give Alonso political acumen and possibly development skills.

I doubt if it will be like Senna/Prost.Probably not.But the other parts,I agree!

It was pretty much like Senna and Prost back in 2007!!! Oh yes it was! They positively loathed each other. Disastrous year for McLaren in oh so many ways. That was a clear-cut WCC that went right down the drain.

I learned about 2007 quarrels, but I am still in doubt if it is like Senna/Prost .What affects me is Senna's death.

All that shows is just how bloody slow the McLaren car is at the moment.

Alonso glided past much like the Lotus so easily managed to not long after.

It also shows 2 drivers at the top of their game doing what they do best

What impressed me most about that was how each driver stuck to their line and goal, leaving space for the other if needed. Neither made sudden or lunging movements trying to scare or crowd the other, they focused on getting through the circuit fastest rather than hindering the other driver.

:cloud9: I love to watch Lewis doing what he does best in a car!! And best of all is watching him doing it against the next best/best driver (depending on point of view). But in equal cars :banghead::banghead: which they're not!!! I think lewis would win out in equal cars but it would be close, and so long as there's no jiggery pokery going on, Id shake Alonso's hand if he beat him fairly.

YES! two top drivers doing it how it should be done. You feel safe when they go head to head...not so with a lot of drivers. Respect and skilll!

They're both pretty fair drivers on the track. Even thou they've both been in some controversy, like lewis' weaving row or the kimi thing at Spa... I have to say, when the two are against each other or anyone, they are quite sportsmanlikely.... During the Senna and Prost era, i think there was a bit more annimosity even if they had respect for eachother.

As for driving, when they were on the same car, they were very even. You would say Lewis was a rookie, but in my opinion that was his best yr.

Lewis makes a bit more mistakes, but is perhaps a faster Qualyfier and maybe gets used to the car faster.... Like, his base performance doesnt change much. Unlike almost everyone else's. Alonso is also quick to adapt.... And hard working. Out working Massa is not an easy task..... I guess Alonso is more of a leader. Able to take matters and decisions (like strategy, set up etc)by his own means, sort of like Button/schumacher? . While Lewis seems to prefer a bit more guidance; sort of like Kimi?: give me a good car, and good strategy; i'll win.

Other than that.... Kinda of a late thread hehehe

Oh and Lewis' fans are worse. :D
