The maldonado t-shirt would probably end up strangling you jaber, it would be just a mistake though! :hehe:

F1 history tells us that the best drivers always have somewhere to go

Ugghh, we had all this last year for ages, and it rumbled on forever in a futile, pathetic manner, and I really do think it's no different this time. Honestly, I cannot see where he would possibly go?

Ferrari? = Unthinkable. When it comes to drivers, the Scuderia is a 2 tier team, and this is clearly being endorsed by Fernando Alonso. Looking at the shenanigans of 2007 at McLaren, there is no way these two guys are lining up again in the same team. They may have more respect for each other now, but a reunion is blatantly not on the cards.

Red Bull? = No. There's no evidence to support this at all. Also, one should exercise caution with this one. RBR have been setting the pace now for a good few seasons, but history teaches us it will only remain this way for so long. Sooner a later, they'll slump, and another team(s) will take the lead for a bit. This has already started to occur this season.

Mercedes? = This suggestion is frigging LAUGHABLE. Compared to McLaren? No way. The team's three seasons in F1 so far have yielded just 1 win, and that shows absolutely no sign of changing soon. They aren't even in the same class as McLaren in any way or form, even with all the mistakes from the latter this season. Their long-term commitment must also be called into question. If their current form carries on much longer, they'll be packing their bags before long, mark my words. In the same way as Toyota, Honda and BMW all did before them. Not an option.

Any other teams is starting to get a little unrealistic. Lotus don't seem to be in any hurry to change drivers anyway.

So, for me, it's a crystal clear NO.

2014 (or 2015 after seeing which engine has the upper hand) will be the big year of changes not only in the engine department, but consequently also with respect to driver lineups.

Lewis is overrated and certainly not worth the money. Only Ferrari will be able to afford him if he wants a hike in his salary.

I've voted no however, because I don't think Hamilton would leave McLaren purely for the emotional stuff. Plus... Vettel at Ferrari sounds far more tantalising...

Lewis is overrated???? How do you work that one out?

Alonso 30mil Hamilton 16mil Button 16mil (eouros I think)

Alonso earns twice as much as Hamilton. Hamilton is on the same as Button. Now tell me which ones out of those three are overrated and not worth the money?? (im talking relative to each other of course)

Lotus have reportedly joined the likes of Ferrari and Mercedes on the list of teams which Lewis Hamilton could join next season.

The 27-year-old's contract with McLaren runs out at the end of the current campaign and it remains to be seen if he will stay with the team where his Formula One career started as they have struggled to supply him with a Championship-winning car in recent years.

Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull (that was before Mark Webber signed a new deal) have often been mentioned as possible destinations should he decide to quit Woking, but the Daily Mail has now thrown Lotus into the equation as well.

'Sportsmail understands that the 2008 world champion would consider a move to Lotus now that they have returned to form which propelled Fernando Alonso to two world titles in their former guise as Renault,' the paper claims.

'Lotus currently employ 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean and moving out big earner Raikkonen halfway through a two-year deal would represent an issue - as would coming close to matching Hamilton's £15million-a-year contract which expires at the end of the season.

'But there is no guarantee that McLaren are prepared to match those terms after group executive chairman Ron Dennis stated Hamilton's deal was agreed when the economic climate was very different.'

Meanwhile, team principal Martin Whitmarsh insists that McLaren's current woes won't influence Hamilton's decision.

"I think he's smarter than that," Whitmarsh is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

He added: "He's got to want to stay in this team, which I believe he does."

I think this new post comes in the right time for this thread.

Why Ferrari keep getting mentioned in all this simply beggars belief!

I firmly believe talks of Hamilton moving are, like last year, all just hot air.

No driver is worth €30m in my view; who do they think they are; footballers? :hehe:

Hamilton is a better driver than Button (and I say that as a Button fan); but I believe that Alonso is a better rounded driver than Hamilton. I would love to see Hamilton and Alonso in this years Ferrari to see who is the best; I think it's a close run thing, but I believe (without all the BS that went on at McLaren) that Alonso would edge Lewis out at this time!

So..um, myown, you've also bought Alonso's logic that McLaren hired him (a 2X WDC), paid him double of what they were paying Hamilton...and then sabotaged him since Hamilton is of British descent?

Because from a business perspective and common sense perspective...I fail to see this logic. But I guess Alonso is a World Champion not only in F1, but in Acting as well...seeing as how many people actually thought McLaren favoured Lewis the Rookie instead of Alonso the 2X WDC (with double the pay).

No, that is not what I said; All the BS that went on between the two drivers and the whole spygate saga didn't help either driver, no conspiracies here!

I'm not buying anyone's logic; an unsettled team doesn't help anyone in the team, least of all the drivers; and I believe that Alonso has become a much better driver since that time.
