What are you on about? There are probably more Lewis fans than Jenson fans on here,
It's different to criticise a driver and to do it frequently and in a mocking way.
Well...come back to planet Earth vaptin. Hamilton had a couple of crashes which were his fault last year and suddenly, Jenson Frigging Button is proclaimed 'the more mature driver and now the team leader', 'the new Professor', the 'Tyre Master', the guy who's 'wrested McLaren away from Hamilton'...it was hilarious.
Imagine the roles were reversed right now, what would you expect from the Hamilton haters? Sympathy?? Hell, we Hamilton fans are actually a bunch of tame hamsters if you'd stop to think about it.
I don't think the tyre thing was brought up that much last year,
There's no denying he did drive maturely last year though, he often qualified behind Lewis, people weren't calling Jenson a faster driver over one lap, but he managed to finish the season ahead on points, Lewis was making a lot of mistakes, Jenson wasn't making so many, it was a fair call.
I think the main reason people commented on Jenson's good performance last year, was that it wasn't really expected for him to match Hamilton when he switched to McLaren, and yet he did that and beat him on points.
Button's still fairly magnanimous, he's not blaming the team or ranting in the public eye.
It was commented on in his Brawn year, when he started to be out performed by Rubens, that Button needed the car setup and handling in a certain way, he has a very narrow "feel", which to be honest seems to be still true this year.
I just think it's a little too simplistic to say Driver A is better than Driver B, f1 is about driver, car and team in combination, in some circumstances Driver B could be better than A. Like how at the start of the season, Webber was out qualifying and finishing ahead (bar bad luck) of Vettel, now Vettel is posting in pole positions just before the end of the session.
Also, Jenson mentioning his problems I think should be treated in the same way as McLaren's strategy calls, we don't hear most of what is said, the real stuff is probably covered up from the media and public.
