Can't this thread go one freaking day without some sort of childish exchange in it? Getting very sick of these stupid posts. :director:

Come on Grumpanella, let the children play. Do you know the pain and suffering every Lewis fan had to endure last year? They're just letting off steam.

One can't help but let off steam when blatant double standard views are as obvious as pink elephants in this thread.

Yup,seems to me that anything negative about Lewis on these forums seems to be brushed under the carpet,as soon as we defend him and give a bit back to the haters the mods come out of the woodwork.

I haven't been here long but it's as plain as day.

Relax...a couple of mods here are indeed Hamilton fans. They just don't 'vent' as much as the rest of us...occupational hazards. :P

What are you on about? There are probably more Lewis fans than Jenson fans on here,

It's different to criticise a driver and to do it frequently and in a mocking way.

As a Mod we all try to be impartial (If we don't then we get extra time in DD's Dungeon, and not the good one) However first and fore most we are all F1 fans and have our likes and dislikes, of different drivers and teams. I have no problem having dicussions with people who have diffent views from me, it would be a boring site if no one was allowed to express themselves.

Just because a mod or admin disagees with something F1 related does not mean that we are going to suddenly ban you. Most Warnings and Bans are normally discussed between the mods and admin. to make sure it is not just a mod getting angry at a situation and clicking warn.

Well...come back to planet Earth vaptin. Hamilton had a couple of crashes which were his fault last year and suddenly, Jenson Frigging Button is proclaimed 'the more mature driver and now the team leader', 'the new Professor', the 'Tyre Master', the guy who's 'wrested McLaren away from Hamilton'...it was hilarious.

Imagine the roles were reversed right now, what would you expect from the Hamilton haters? Sympathy?? Hell, we Hamilton fans are actually a bunch of tame hamsters if you'd stop to think about it.

Button deserves everything he is getting IMO,if his fans want to blame someone then blame the media and Button for getting above themselves.

Speak for yourself... I'm a vindictive SOB. :hehe:

Anyway... I'd take a McLaren 1-2 tomorrow even if Button comes in first place and manages to lap Lewis while doing it.

I don't think the tyre thing was brought up that much last year,

There's no denying he did drive maturely last year though, he often qualified behind Lewis, people weren't calling Jenson a faster driver over one lap, but he managed to finish the season ahead on points, Lewis was making a lot of mistakes, Jenson wasn't making so many, it was a fair call.

I think the main reason people commented on Jenson's good performance last year, was that it wasn't really expected for him to match Hamilton when he switched to McLaren, and yet he did that and beat him on points.

Button's still fairly magnanimous, he's not blaming the team or ranting in the public eye.

It was commented on in his Brawn year, when he started to be out performed by Rubens, that Button needed the car setup and handling in a certain way, he has a very narrow "feel", which to be honest seems to be still true this year.

I just think it's a little too simplistic to say Driver A is better than Driver B, f1 is about driver, car and team in combination, in some circumstances Driver B could be better than A. Like how at the start of the season, Webber was out qualifying and finishing ahead (bar bad luck) of Vettel, now Vettel is posting in pole positions just before the end of the session.

Also, Jenson mentioning his problems I think should be treated in the same way as McLaren's strategy calls, we don't hear most of what is said, the real stuff is probably covered up from the media and public.

Honestly? You can't tell that Lewis (Driver A) is in a different class than Jenson (Driver B)? Making a bad car perform, qualifying, race pace, dealing with tyre inconsistencies, car setups for each track and conditions, etc., etc...all favor Lewis. Button has no excuse because he has far more experience (especially having driven so many different F1 cars with different design concepts). He also drives the exact same car as Lewis and obviously for the same team. It's not like we're comparing him to Vettel/Red Bull. There is nothing simplistic about this comparison...it's as clear as can be, even to the untrained eye.

I'm just saying...
