Just gave my car to the car doctor for overnight work, changing a whole host of past which I made a list over the past year to do up....and just now I got a call from my mechanic saying my disc brakes might need changing as well. More YAY news for my wallet.
Owning a car is an expensive business, owning two cars is really expensive business!
Not as expensive as owning kids... latest statistics for the US, raising a child here till the age of 17 costs $275,000. It's cut off at 17 because college comes after that and the sky's the limit with those expenses.
Yup, kids are overrated and overpriced. The initial purchase price is usually quite affordable, but then the running costs are killing you. And it is difficult to break the contract because of the fine print, so you're stuck with them forEVer.
I know right! Don't know if you're a parent, but I personally don't see the worth in all the trouble. People talk about wives being 'liabilities' in the financial sense, well it's nothing close to kids IMO. I evaluate myself as a parents child and think of everything my parents have done for me and although I'm eternally grateful, I don't see how I could repay even 1/4, since my dad isn't really in any monetary issue anyway.
I guess it's a mentality thing, a fundamental part of the brain which I'm missing. I can't stand being around kids, and can't think of having to impart 'human knowledge' in 1 from birth...I can think of a million other ways to satisfy my hours! I told myself, if I ever get married the prenup is going to include 'No

kids' clause, or the wedding is off.
Sorry for the rant...but I always look out for similar minded individuals as they are far and few in between. I hope you were being genuine about your opinion though.
