Just watching the last few minutes of the Poland v Greece game and the commentators just called them the worst 2 teams in the tournamant - what a pair of :beans:! I don't see Peter Drury and Jim Beglin playing for their country. Pr*ks!

The whole thing has been overshadowed by the racist fans at the match. Reminds me of Alonso's fan club at Barcelona back in 2008.

Actually, i think Beglin did :hehe: But they aren't the commentators here...

But really, they aren't exactly just saying that for no reason are they. Greece really aren't very good and although i tipped Poland to have a decent tournament, it seems they are trying to prove me wrong on that. On paper i think Greece and Denmark are the worst two teams.

I got the names off the TV guide. According to Wikipedia, Beglin didn't get capped but Wiki could be wrong.

I look at it this way. It's like people lambasting the McLaren pit crew for trying their best. Plus they have to consider that at these early stages the teams will probably hold something in reserve.

The Danes just beat the Dutch ( )

1:1 against France. We looked like we could of finished them off.

Not a bad match overall.

I am pleased with that result given that we had to fend off the Ribery-Benezema-Nasri trio. Can't wait for Rooney to return though cause we appeared to have very little attacking threat...

Did you watch the same match? England were reasonable until they scored, then sat back deep, losing possession too easily and giving the French too much space, which is ultimately what allowed Nasri to net the equaliser, the second half was worse, losing even more possession, just as well the French aren't the team they once were, otherwise Hodgson's XI would have been punished!

Well as admitted before, I am more of a Rugby fan, than a footie fan - so you probably know more than me. It looked ok to me lol

It was a boring match I thought (England v France).

Until I remembered how little time Hodgson has had I was disappointed with England's lack of ambition.

France were really not that good, if England had played more adventurously I think they could have taken the game to them, although England had trouble doing that against Norway and Belgium, so maybe defensive tactics really were the only option. Played well up until the first goal though, then I agree with Myownalias, just sat back and were playing for a draw it seems.

That's not a problem for the first group game against a more favoured team, hopefully they can produce some good attacking possession in the next two group games, building up good levels of confidence for the knockout rounds. Germany weren't that great, Holland seemed to play well but maybe they won't bounce back from the poor start and continue to nervously miss chances - although with Van Percy that's unlikely and Spain and Italy weren't playing to a particularly higher standard than England and France as well, maybe with some more squad and training time Hodgson can continue to improve the team.

I think they bottom line in this England Euro campaign is that there is next to no expectation unlike previous tournaments, Hodgson is expected to fail so a draw seems like a great result in their first game, especially against group favourites France. I'm willing to bet if Capello was still at the helm, there would be much more expectation and the Italian would have been heavily criticised!

I saw the poland vs. greece match. The red cards made me laugh...those greek guys were a riot!!

I have hardly watched soccer ever before in my life but i've been getting into now since it streams a lot late at night while I'm at work. I was rooting for poland because they say polski, which I can corrupt and say polskeet....yeah, you guys get it

So the Russians were beating the crap out the Poles or the Poles were beating the crap out of the Russians after a draw. What the hell would it be like if either team had won?!
