Until I remembered how little time Hodgson has had I was disappointed with England's lack of ambition.
France were really not that good, if England had played more adventurously I think they could have taken the game to them, although England had trouble doing that against Norway and Belgium, so maybe defensive tactics really were the only option. Played well up until the first goal though, then I agree with Myownalias, just sat back and were playing for a draw it seems.
That's not a problem for the first group game against a more favoured team, hopefully they can produce some good attacking possession in the next two group games, building up good levels of confidence for the knockout rounds. Germany weren't that great, Holland seemed to play well but maybe they won't bounce back from the poor start and continue to nervously miss chances - although with Van Percy that's unlikely and Spain and Italy weren't playing to a particularly higher standard than England and France as well, maybe with some more squad and training time Hodgson can continue to improve the team.
