And the fact that lewis has been with Mclaren since he was a child may have led to him leaving things to them too much. But there are lots of examples of him asking for something and being told no. Like his tyres gone in the first race but having to stay out, saying it was time for inters in the wet race and then Jenson getting called in. Some time ago (cant remember when)being told to shut up and get on with it when he needed tyres and subsequently loosing a place to kimi.Loosing the world championhip in his first year when he as begging to come in for tyres. Last year's Spanish GP, he wanted a longer 7th gear and his engineer argued against it, then in the race he couldnt overtake Vettel to win because he was hitting the limiter. More recently he wanted to test and wasnt allowed. So I think its not the whole story to say he doesnt make calls. And there is evidence that Jenson gets some of his calls made for him by the team. If Lewis' engineer is making the calls then he isnt doing very well.
