Monaco is an odd one. As a circuit, on paper, it's the worst for overtaking, although to say it
doesn't happen would be an erroneous statement. It does, and we've all seen it.
It doesn't always produce a great race, but sometimes it does, and the art of threading one's car through the tight, twisting streets of the principality really separates the men from the boys. The setting is also quite stunning, which is it's biggest attraction - the glamour, the city-scape, the buildings, the tunnel... visually it's brilliant.
What always gets me is folk that say they love Monaco, but hate circuits like Singapore. Singapore is a BETTER CIRCUIT than Monaco. Monaco has the history, and that does it a hell of a lot of favours.
Furthermore, why miss the race? I look forward to every race on the calendar, even ones at Barcelona or Valencia! It's all about the passion!
