Perhaps it was overuse, who knows. Anyway, yesterday after another pounding, it turned itself off and didn't want to play ball after that.

Anyway, I phoned the helpline (on a Sunday which was refreshing) and have a brand new 60gb PS3 turning up on Tuesday - now that's what I call service! ;) Had it been a Xbox, I would have had to send it away for weeks - and someone I know even had theirs lost by Microsoft!!

Still a big thumbs up for PS3 - Sony seem very dedicated to its development and customer service.

I've wrapped her up in my bed with a hot water bottle - i'm hoping she'll get better for some play later, you never know.

I wonder if this is happening to alot of other PS3's ? I would hate to see it turn into a problem like the Xbox had.

I think it has something to do with the cooling - I wonder if a fan/heatsink has come loose.

mine is only 32" :(

No problems with my PS3 so far and it's done some pretty long gaming/movie stints. Perhaps it's to do with the 60Gb model requiring better cooling as it has the PS2 hardware and some other stuff shoved in there too.

See I dunno if you guys agree, although I have the PS3 and love its new features, I hate how they've let online multiplayer go to their heads. And it's the same with Xbox 360
Take the new Grid game, you can't even play mulitplayer split screen, you only have the only multiplayer option. :banghead:
