Global warming my arse. :irked:

Well yes. Thats what I was saying

Our summers are not crap, it's just a British thing to always moan about the weather even when there is nothing wrong with it.

Depends on your perspective. If you like mostly cold, damp, grey rain. Then you're right, there's nothing to moan about.

Most days in the summer were clear and warm in these parts.

Which means it used to be hotter :P

Although winters used to be much colder. There were once markets held on the River Thames, when the river completely froze over. Can't do that these days....

I certainly have no complaints. There were some days last summer when it was just TOO hot.

Also, I went to Spain in '05 and found the high temperatures unbearable. The beach burned my feet. Thus, I'm more than satisfied with summers in Blighty.

35?! What are you? A lizard of some kind? :hehe: Far too hot to do anything other than sit and do nothing with is boring!

Andrew I've noticed, ever since Fraffy left, you've picked up the slack. Sibling separation anxiety?

No.

Andrew do you realise you risk your health if you dont get enough sunshine, people in the north of the uk (and other northerly latitudes) are at particular risk. You lack vitamin D which can cause all sorts of problems. http://www.mindpowernews.com/HealingSunlight.htm

Yeah, it's not that dark up here. Pretty much every day in summer was sunny and warm. Plenty of sunlight and vitamin D.

Nope, north of Manchester and you're at risk. Not enough sun.
#286959
There's lots of links. I couldnt be bothered to troll through all of them, I just picked the first three that looked relevant.
Yes you can take supplements , but a lot of people avoid the sun and dont realise they are deficient in that vitamin. There are LOADS of health risks.
The sun feels so nice on your body, you can almost feel the good its doing.

Global warming my arse. :irked:

So your arse is emitting too much Co2? So you're the reason the polar ice caps are melting at an extreme rate...

Yeah, but use of fuel for power or use of fuel for distance?

Surely the former, as WB suggested.

Well when talking of a road cars efficiency they talk of liters of fuel per 100km I'd assume it be the same measure.
.......

An F1 car only gets something like 5mpg, pushing it through the air at 200mph takes a lot of energy, so when they talk of efficiency in the engine they're meaning how much of the energy stored in the fuel is converted to useful mechanical energy. I think normal combustion engines are maybe around 30% with more than half the energy from the fuel being lost as heat.

EDIT: according to the wiki an F1 car gets 3.1 US mpg, 3.8 UK mpg, 1.3 km/l

What's different in the US? a mile, a gallon, or do we just drive more economically in the UK?

Yeah that makes more sense. apart from the Miles and Gallons :hehe:
