I disagree with you lot in there - I would ditch Petrov and Senna and give Grosjean the seat. Petrov showed some promise at times this year, but he's not nearly fast enough for his lack of consistency, and Senna is obviously not F1 material, that wouldn't even be discussed if he had a different last name.
Cant agree on Senna. He's come in with no experience or time in a current F1 car and done a reasonable job. Compare him to Fisi at Ferrarri when felipe was injured. He was more than solid in F2. I think Grosjean is a mistake.....but I may be wrong.
No experience? Senna did a full season on HRT, no matter how bad it is, it's still a F1 car, not only he had previous F1 experience (which Grosjean didn't), as this Renault is much, much better than the 2009 Renault.
But this years Renault has not been developed (Petrov has confirmed this) particularly in the latter part of the year, so the car hasnt been that good.
Yes he did do the HRT but Renault reckoned that experience hindered him. Crashing the HRT was not an option because they were strapped for cash, cash and Senna had developped an over cautious driving style.
I just think Senna has way more potential than we've seen, especially when you consider he didnt drive a single seater until 2004.His family kept him away from motor racing but his mother realised how desperate he was to race and relented.
Well maybe Grosjean has the potential to do well also. Thing is with both drivers changing at Renault we'll never really know who would have been the best choice.
