Oh, I'm sorry. Have I imagined the whole year's whining about how only Lewis ever gets punished for incidents he's involved in?

If you cant see the unfairness thats gone on this yeart, no point argueing any further.

Go on, amuse me. Aside from the reprimand at Spa and possibly the second penalty at Monaco, what exactly has been so unfair? If it was any other driver, most of the people criticising the year's stewarding would not take issue with it.

Well off the top of my head- penalised for weaving at malaysia then suffering behind a worse weaving Schumacher later in the year who got no penalties. Getting a reprimand when Maldonado swooped in on him after the chequered flag
Penalised this weekend for yellows when Jenson doing a more dangerous thing got off. Thats without even going to look. Im sure theres loads more.

I mentioned the reprimand and I did think that was unfair. However, I must disagree with your other points. Schumacher only made one particularly bad move, I thought the rest of it was fine.

Regarding the point in bold, would you like to:

1) Explain how it was more dangerous?
2) Point out any evidence that suggests he kept his foot in under yellows rather than slowing around the scene of the incident?

Dull, dull, dull. It might be an interesting track for the drivers, but watching the race was like watching paint dry, God I was wishing the race would end sooner and wished I hadnt got up to watch it. As soon as Seb had got past the first corner the race was pretty much over. To me this new track just looks too much all the other Tilke tracks, for instance the last corner and pit straight looked like it had been lifted from the Chinese circuit! Brundle might have been musing about the lack of a hairpin, but that isnt so good for overtaking opportunities as in this day of aero downforce, cars just cant follow each other closely enough through the fast twisty stuff.
This time I thought Hamilton had got his overtake right, but Massa just didnt seem to want to believe he was alongside and just turned in. Must admit I thought Hamilton was going to get penalised again so was pleasantly surprised when Massa got it instead! No doubt Massa will want to punch Hamiltons lights out again. I think the grid penalty hit Hamilton harder than he has admitted as yet again he was out of sorts at this GP. This season cant end soon enough for him unfortunately.
Seeing as Abu Dhabi tends to produce dull races I dont think I can be bothered to watch another Vettel dominated weekend :( .

Did his fastest lap under yellows. No marshels on the track when Lewis went past. People on the track when Jenson went past.

Still not a word from "racechick" on what she said to me and I quote. "I bet you wouldn't be saying that if Lewis turned in to Massa." I prompted her to read my posts to see how blatantly unfair her comment was and was expecting a reply but nadda, not a word, zilch, silence.

There's too much going on in this thread, she might not have seen it. Try using the other thread for sole discussion on Lewis / Felipe.

Thought Id answered you. Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant. Im not feeling very good at the moment and can completely understand why Lewis is so down. Once again, sorry if I got what you said wrong.

Did his fastest lap under yellows. No marshels on the track when Lewis went past. People on the track when Jenson went past.

The fastest lap is insufficient basis for this claim. His previous laps were a 1:30.X and a 1:50.X; he'd have had to have backed off through the entire sector to have not set a personal best time.

If there were people on the track when he went past, fair enough, but that's not the issue. The issue is, did he lift off at the point of being shown the yellow flag? He wasn't given a penalty, so the stewards mustn't have judged that he ignored the caution. Compare this to Lewis' situation: he was flat-out, DRS open and even admitted he didn't acknowledge the flags. Whether or not anyone was on the track at the time is irrelevant, he was shown double waved yellows and ignored them. Now, if the data showed that Jenson just carried on at full-pace and didn't do anything to acknowledge the situation, then yes it would create an unfair scenario. However, since all we have is one quick replay and the stewards have multiple camera angles and plenty of data, we can't make that claim.

Not the best race but not the worst. Great potential for future years I reckon. :)

My opinions in short.

Schumacher's race is sadly not being highlighted enough, understandably with the Lewis / Massa incident of course, but I wanted to mention it before anything else. Yet again, Schumi makes up several places off the start line and is substantially ahead of his start position by the end of the race. Got his strategy spot on, slight wobble out of the pits after his last stop, but almost a perfect race from his perspective. Not that I was wishing ill on any other driver, but I have to admit, in the last couple of laps I was thinking 'I wonder if Webber and Alonso might have a minor collision', and that could have promoted Schumacher to a podium that I think he deserves on the balance of his performance this season. :)

Massa was at fault for the incident, and when looking at the incident as a whole with it clear that he knew where Lewis was, he deserved the penalty. Overall however, I'm still uncomfortable with the horrible reality that about 95% of incidents are being penalised across the board if you look at all races from recent years. There's hardly any such thing as a 'racing incident' any more, which I don't think is good for F1 or racing in general.

Vettel is just an awesome racer. So so quick it's ridiculous. Oh how I would love it if he had a stronger team mate to watch some inter-team battles. A shame that Webber being so poor this year has denied us any effective title battle. A couple of off races I could forgive, but he has been consistently poor for the entire season almost without exception, so I don't think much of a defence can be put up on that one.
