Hamilton and Pérez both have a three-place grid penalty for ignoring double-waved yellow flags; Petrov carries over a five-place penalty from the previous race for torpedoing Schumacher.

I'm struggling to enjoy this weekend so far (I know we've only had one session). The circuit itself is fantastic, in my opinion and has everything required to become a classic. The facilities and location leave a little to be desired at present, though. I wasn't expecting it to be so smoggy, nor was I expecting the build quality to be so poor...perhaps I was just too hopeful. How Bernie can say this is fantastic just leaves me confused.

Well normal service has been resumed. Hamilton goes fastes by loads and in comethe stewards with a three place grid penalty. Another race ruined.

Not yet. Double DRS zones...aim for pole, and he can line up 4th. Its tough but if the car has got the pace he can still win.

Yeah not end of the world but surely a sanction for a P1 blunder, couldn't have been that bad considering it was only 3 place not 5.

Reading the McLaren commentary his engineer said " track clear turn 8&11 turn 16 still yellow."
He must have thought he meant "track clear" and missed the finer detail. Or thought by the time he reached 16 the yellow was no more.

But he'll be so pissed! Maybe thats how he needs to feel. I understand the green light for all clear was being shown when he got the penalty. So how does that work?

It's unfortunate, but do keep in mind that with marshalls on the track it's very important to minimise the risk both to them and the drivers approaching the scene of the incident. It's possibly a little harsh, but what's a fine to a millionaire?

The green light was after the incident, not before it. The marshalls were still showing double waved yellows in the area that Maldonado's car was being recovered.

My toilet has more room, and also a window!!

Mine has an extractor fan.

I thought Denthul was joking!

Hamilton and Pérez hit with grid penalties

Sadly, I'm not very good at telling jokes. :(
