One driver was missing from the podium and the two there were on the wrong steps.
What was the race?
The race where Ferrari embarrassed its drivers and Schumacher and Barrichello were fined for their antics on the podium.
Was it a race in which someone refused to go to the podium?
Was it way back in the 70s or even the 60s?
I got it. I think.
2005 USGP.
Montiero finished 3rd but did not go up to the podium because of all the booing spectators. But I don't know if this is the right guess because I cannot confirm whether MS and RB stood in the wrong spots.
According to the wiki on Montiero, he did not.
I'm all out of ideas.
At the podium ceremony, at which none of the scheduled dignitaries were present, Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello quietly accepted their awards, and quickly exited. However, Monteiro stayed behind to celebrate his first podium finish alone amid the booing fans.
