This is a difficult one!

The only time I can recall drivers being on the wrong steps of the podium were Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello at Austria in '02. But Juan Pablo Montoya was definitely on the podium too wasn't he?

The race where Ferrari embarrassed its drivers and Schumacher and Barrichello were fined for their antics on the podium.

Not the right one. Trying to think of a clue which won't give it away immediately.

The official winner was the last victory for this GP team.

Was it a race in which someone refused to go to the podium?
Was it way back in the 70s or even the 60s?

I got it. I think.

2005 USGP.

Montiero finished 3rd but did not go up to the podium because of all the booing spectators. But I don't know if this is the right guess because I cannot confirm whether MS and RB stood in the wrong spots.

It was a fairly recent race, although only one of the three drivers is currently still in a F1 race seat.

Not this race. I think all three of MS, RB and TM attended the podium ceremony at the 2005 US farce and were all on the correct steps.

According to the wiki on Montiero, he did not.

I'm all out of ideas.

Brazil 2003 - FA (as third) was getting medical attention during the ceremony, Fisi later demoted KR as the eventual winner - last victory for Jordan F1.

We must be reading different wikis.

At the podium ceremony, at which none of the scheduled dignitaries were present, Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello quietly accepted their awards, and quickly exited. However, Monteiro stayed behind to celebrate his first podium finish alone amid the booing fans.
