I also think of Felipe as a champion. Like so many Tifosi, 2008, for so many reasons, is such a hard year to think about. For me, I see Felipe as the biggest champion to come out of that year.

Yeah his win in Belgium was a true champion drive, without that win come last race in Brazil he wouldn't have been in the position To take the title.

Given how 07 went for Ferrari fans, 08 isn't so bad. Lewis was the best driver that year and deserved it.

Me, and the Tifosi I know, don't have a problem with Lewis's '08

His career is stagnating against Alonso and his huge bag of Spanish gold that he brought with him. I don't believe that the team support him as much as they do Alonso.

Asking him to pull over was the nail in the coffin for his confidence and knowing his place in the team. Cries of forza Felipe are well and good from the fans but in all honestly you can't expect anything more from him if you're happy with team orders.

I can remember (well it was many moons ago) reading how Ferrari were at fault for pitting their drivers too much against each other. It seems after each SF golden era there are cries of "Ferrari use team orders" or "Ferrari don't use team orders", take your choice. I just hope I don't have to wait too long for our next golden era, 2012 seems a nice number to start with :)

Forza Felipe, Forza Fernando, Forza Ferrari

Perhaps you just want to believe that :)

I do believe it. Look at Massa's form before Alonso being hired by Ferrari. He regularly matched and beat his team mates who were rated higher than him. Stick him in a team where he is not the whipping boy and we'll see the Massa of old.

Personally I don't think Massa's been the same since before his accident. I just think he never really got his confidence back, whether that is partly to do with the way he is treated by the team I don't know. I'd like to see him given a chance in another team as I think it might revitalise him a bit which would be great to see (remember how he used to fling that Sauber around in the olden days!?)

Don't be greedy. I'm hoping for McLarens golden era again soon :P

Me too! 2012 is a VEEERRRYYYY nice place to start :drink:

Especially since it might be the last year of F1...and the world as we know it. :P

Perhaps the title of this thread should be; Why is Massa still in at Ferrari? Could the answer possibly be that Alonso is perfectly happy with Massa as a team mate? Felipe is house trained and seems content to bound along at the masters heels yipping. While Ferrari having signed Alonso to 2016  have found a worthy successor to Barrichello.

That's exactly right.

I think he's tolerated for three reasons
1. Alonso likes him as a second driver-he knows his place
2. Ferrari like him because he keeps Alonso happy
3. Ferrari feel some responsibility to him after his accident
