This is some funny sh*t:

A frustrated Felipe Massa is fighting for his Ferrari seat, his former rival David Coulthard said in his latest Telegraph column.

The Scot, now a Red Bull consultant and commentator for British television, wrote about Brazilian Massa’s confrontation with Lewis Hamilton after the pair clashed in Singapore.

Playing down the subsequent media reaction, Coulthard said it was “hardly the Thriller in Manila. The only thing missing from the Scrap in Singapore was some handbags,” he joked.

Brazilian Massa was highly critical of Hamilton throughout the Singapore weekend and on Monday insisted “I have not changed my opinion by one iota” since the fracas.

Coulthard advises Hamilton not to worry.

“I could not imagine a less threatening character than Felipe and I’m sure it will blow over quickly,” he wrote.

“I don’t think Felipe should have done it, certainly not on camera, but I can understand his frustration. He is fighting for his Ferrari seat and the collision during the race, while unfortunate, was certainly Lewis’s fault,” added the veteran of almost 250 grands prix.

Maaaaaannn that sentence has FTW written all over it!!!!!:rofl::rofl:

But yeah, agree 100% on every word. Massa's feeling the heat and he's currently in vent-mode. High time he left Ferrari and joined HRT.

It'll be awesome if Lewis punctures Massa's tyre again in Suzuka. Even if it gets a drive through...actually I hope they clash again and Massa ends up retiring due to Lewis. :D:D

It is true though he has only scored 10 points/5th place a couple times as his highest place finish this year. His frustrations with Lewis are minimal in comparison to his performances this year.

I think a lot of people liked and had sympathy for massa
Taking the battle to Schumacher
The dignified way he accepted not winning in2008
The accident
His unfair treatment at Alonso and Ferrari's hands

but.....his results have been way off this year , trying to blame hamilton for all his woes and the pathetic attempt at off track-intimidation
I've lost a lot of respect for him.

I dunno about anyone else, but I would really like to see him "announce" a drop from ferrari right as webber leaves. I think the guy has real talent, give him a better car and a team that isn't going to stifle him.

And he requires such a teeny tiny seat. :hehe:

It is widely acknowledged that Massa's seat has been under threat for the last two seasons, he is underperforming, maybe a morale issue, Ferrari are not exactly the most nurturing of teams? but being hit by Hamilton and losing a bucket load of time having to nurse his car back to the pits with a puncture didn't help matters. I think Massa would be better off looking for a drive elsewhere, like Rubens he has turned bitter and constantly moans, it's called the Ferrari #2 syndrome.

I don't think he is trying to blame Hamilton for all his woes.

At the start of the year he was told that this season has to be an exceptional one for his to stay at Ferrari so the guy is under a huge amount of pressure so the slightest thing on-track is going to set him off. If his seat was safe I reckon that he would have been more pragmatic in being thumped up the backside by Hamilton.

Putting things in perspective it's perfectly understandable why Massa is on such a short fuse these days.

I too would like to see Massa (and Smedley) get out of Ferrari. He's satyed far and his loyalty is not being rewarded by Ferrari too long. I think being Alonso's so-called team mate is damaging his career. The guy needs a fresh start but there is no way he is going to get that at Ferrari unless Alonso is sidelined for some reason.

If you look at what I said about Massa I said a lot of positive things first. Selectively quoting me gives the wrong impression of what I meant and certainly doesnt put things in perspective.
Of course Massa's on a short fuse, he's about to be dropped. He's not performed. Thats not hamilton's fault.

I picked the bit I disagreed with.

I know, I realise that, but it distorted the message. It made it sound like I have a down on Massa and thats not been the case. Ive liked him and fought his corner a lot on this forum. But I think he's losing it

I used to like him, but his time at Ferrari has turned him bitter. As MOA said, this tends to happen a lot at Maranello.

Time for him to take a final bow now, and let some younger talent take his place in the sport.

Am I wrong, or didn't Domenicali earlier this year say that Massa will be driving for Ferrari next year?

Did he explicitly mention it would be in an F1 car?
