Well that may be, but to me it's starting to feel more like one of the more macabre Brothers Grimm fairy tales.
...I've said the same thing about qualifying an tires pretty much since the second of third race. It's killing the thrill of qualifying and the added strategy to the Sunday race is minimal given the dominance of the lead teams....
The whole disintegrating tyres scheme was not a very well constructed plot, was it? At least they managed to fend off Bernie's "water sprinklers to be switched on at irregular intervals" fix.
Which further demonstrates the folly of the FIA's absurdly stringent constructor's rules, which have stifled creativity and dramatically narrowed the performance differential between cars. So then they have to invent more rules from whole cloth in an effort to manufacture the same levels competition they have only just regulated out of existence. Except the invented rules always have unintended consequences, such as teams giving Q3 amiss to preserve tyres for the show.
The natural evolution of a motor sport is a marvel to behold, but this, ...this is just the Island of Dr. Moreau on wheels.
Well that may be, but to me it's starting to feel more like one of the more macabre Brothers Grimm fairy tales.
