I find that funny as its quite common within the Italian community where they will attend church during Xmas or Easter being good catholics they are. My sister is marrying into family where the maternal side is italian, now they do not go to church every sunday they dont even practice the ten commandments yet they made a big stink about if the wedding was not in a catholic church they would not go and if my sister did not convert they would not go. whole lot of bullpoo if you ask me! but Typical none the less

You know there was this guy in high school who liked to pick on me our freshman year and he was much bigger than I was. I did not fight him but I stood my ground as much as possible to show him I was not a push over. Well I had gotten into weight lifting over the summer and come junior year he was no longer bigger or stronger than I was but you know he had to test the water's. Well after I over powered his advance's and pinned him thing's changed and for the better.

It gave me a chance to know him on another level and we became very very good friend's. He might have still kicked my butt but he realized I was not a pushover and the outcome may not be to his advantage. He also realized that I could be a loyal and trusted friend who looked out for him also which happened on a few occasion's.

Moral of the story: It may take some time but your biggest adversary can become your biggest allie.

I hope the two of you can come to some sort of understanding and this conflict can be left in '07 and not cast a cloud on the '08 season for all of us other member's.

That WAS a very intelligent answer; to be honest I was not expecting it from past experience.

Well, I have a number of things I would like to say about this.

I believe the team could be saying this out of fear of being docked points or even not being allowed to compete next season. In other words, although it isn't entirely true, swallowing some pride will be for the greater good of the team. (I'm not saying that's true, but it's a very real possibility.)

That's a good point if they continued to fight the FIA would have had a vendetta against the team and the slightest mistake would have been met with the strictest penalty.

As much as it pains me to say, the FIA have the power. McLaren can take them on and, yeah, they may get the moral victory, but the team not competing next year would mean McLaren would be finished. Faced with that, even I'd put my dislike of Mosley and the FIA to one side and tell what they want to hear. Hopefully it's enough to talk them round, but, like I say, they could ignore it and go ahead with whatever they're thinking of doing.

Will Renault have to apologise, in public, to McL? Oh no - probably not!

6 pages, what a popular thread. I agree with all above. I have not had time to read all posts so I hope that I dont repeat any points. I think its time now for Ferrari to apologise in public. If Ferrari had not passed the data to McL in the first place this situation could not have happened. An apology from Jean Todt would be appropriate since it was his failier in security that caused the problem.
R.D. has taken it on the chin and done what he had to do without making any derogatory remarks about MM or JT or Ferrari which I am sure are on his mind.
As above, RD is under the power of the FIA, Mosely, Todt, Ferrari clan and there is nothing that he can do about that until the FIA is set up on a proper professional basis.
