Hockenheim is just another circuit now that doesn't stand out. Once it stood from the rest like Monza and Spa do, now it could be anywhere.

Ah yes I forgot, Hockenheim should go too, it isn't what it once was...

I feel the same way. Well atleast we will only see Hockenheim every 2 years as its alternates with Nurburgring. I would prefer all German GPs at Nurburgring rather than Hockenheim.

But the worst track of them all i think is Valencia.
#272419
Hockenheim, although its butchered down from the old track its still got some character. Particularly the hairpin and the last sector of the track. Valencia on the other hand, every single thing about that track sucks. :irked:

some of those venues are poo!!!!!

agreed.

get rid of India, Korea, all the middle Eastern races for a start. USA is ok as USA should have a GP since traditionally they have had one. However it should be like it was traditionally. Before or after Canada and mid season. Traditional is all that matters. So speaking of that bring back Imola, France and the A1 ring as well.

oh come on..

How can anyone say to get rid of Korea? That circuit had a poor start, but the track lay out looks amazing to me. And how can you be so harsh on these middle eastern countries?

You;re right, it is a great track. Build an identical one in France then. How dare Korea has a GP and not France,

get rid of India, Korea,

WTF????

We haven't even SEEN a race in India, how can you make that call?

As for Korea, the ONE RACE we've seen there was excellent!

What are you talking about? :nono:

easy. my comment wasnt regarding the track, but the location. India having a GP at the expense of countries like France and Austria is a joke.

Bring back the old Hockenheim aka the real Hockenheim. The current Hockenheim is a total abomination!

Why is it a joke? There's huge potential for growth for an F1 fanbase there. Austria/France is like a dot on the map in comparison.

England and Italy are also dots on the map in comparison to India. Now you wouldn't dare take away a GP from either of those countries. F1 is a European based sport. Americans, Australians, South Americans and the Japanese can also be considered racing nations since they have been in F1 for a long time. Also with the exception of Sth America, all nations outside of Europe mentioned build cars, and now including South America again, all listed countries have descent motor racing championships other than F1 and can be considered motorracing nations. Most European countries fall into this catergory as well. Now who the hell are India, the Middle Eastern countries again? Th real F1 calendar should feature countries like Austria and France and even Argentina. But no idiot Eccolstone wants his 3rd world countries who have no idea about motorsport. Next victim I bet will be Australia and with it another great GP lost to some country where the people have never even heard of F1.

There is no reason why India should not have a GP. India is a country on the up with a growing economy. Yes there is still huge amounts of poverty, but India is fast becoming a majour player in various world markets. Heck, we may even be seeing Indian owned petrol stations in the UK in the near future! There was a 2 part programme on BBC2 last week and the week before called India on 4 wheels. Worth a watch and you'll see why India wants to host a GP.

F1 is a global sport, not a European sport.

Like it or not, the countries you've put down so 'valiantly' in your post are the ones with the $$$$$.

3rd world countries by infrastructure, but compare the growth and economies of scale and you have a completely different picture. F1 isn't cheap. Your beloved Ferrari are one of the biggest spendthrifts on the planet along with the other teams in F1, and they need a cash pump to keep their spendthrift natures on a high. This cash comes from the fans. Now, fans need to spend money to get this cycle going and guess what? Your 1st world countries are not providing this very basic requirement, the OXYGEN which F1 is currently almost lacking. And, like it or not, things have to evolve to survive and this change we see is the evolution of F1, to shift slightly from its HQ (as you say Europe) but not necessarily abandon it. And there's nothing wrong with that, interest is not born into people its cultivated.

Without the '3rd world countries with no racing pedigree', you can sooner or later say goodbye to beloved Ferrari, they, along with the other teams will have to pack up and you can play reruns of Austria 2002, USA 2004 and relive those sweet memories again because there won't be anymore LIVE races to watch.

Lesson over. :director:

Sad about Turkey when at least 3 very crappy tracks have been left in :(
Dont dispair Elfinnity, other tracks have been dropped only to reappear. Silverstone only got in by the skin of its teeth a couple of years ago.

Yes that makes me sick! But i am dispaired because those obtuse people arent willing to pay the money for future.Nothing happens if the money isnt paid.Few days ago i have read a news about the future of Turkish GP,some are hopeful because two of these crappy tracks,Barcelona and Valencia might switch races each year(like the German GP) so a room for Turkey is open. But we arent the only one waiting for a place. There are several more.Who would give us place again? And i am so angry because i know how irresponsible and not caring people in charge of our race was!Just few stupid attempts like promising for 100,000 spectators.Or inviting Ecclestone here but we dont even know if he did or not.For some time they said everything was alright we are in the good way but at the end of July we got that terrible news.I was shocked because some people were telling as if we signed the contract. But nothing were done after that.Knowing all those hurts!

What you have said may be fact, but the point you are missing from me is that what I have written is not and never was meant to be based on fact. I already knew you or someone else were going to respond to me the way you did because what you wrote I already knew to be the sad case and reality of the current situation. What I wrote is how I feel about the current situation through passion and emotion. In other wordsbe it or not be it, I do not like what is happening and races moving to the countries/locations in question. Weather it brings more $$$$$$$ in or not is one thing, but I as a fan do not like it because I do not want to evolve backwards, but rather keep things as they were before. Anyway this is how I simply feel about the whole thing.
#272500
What I dont understand is your belief that it's "going backwards". It's changing but that doesn't mean backwards...if you're hinting that about the new countries hosting F1, your thinking is really backwards.
