brushed it close with 11 minor faults, thought this'd be a good thread to discuss our own learning to drive stories!

11 minors?! Are you Mr Magoo?

I had 2 minors and even then the examiner admitted they had an internal conflict about one of them.

Yes, I am that good. :woohoo:

Well i actually had 5 the first time i tried, but whats the point in getting 5 minors and one major, when you can take a few minor points to avoid a major and pass.

Either way im certain the only reason i got those minors and stuff id cause all im ever interested in whilst driving was pretending it was an 88 Mclaren with all the gearing and stuff, or rather, how cool it is that this is the closest ill get to F1, im not interested in driving like that with cars around mind, but im certainly not interested in driving around like you have to on a driving test, having to do nice pretty little gear changes and shyte, as such it was actually quite a bit of trouble for me, i failed the first test for literally "going for a gap that wasnt there" and a few days after i had a wry smile about that one, cheers Hamilton.

In NYC, I think one of the driving test actions you must perform is making a sudden left hand turn from the right lane, across four lanes of traffic. It must be a test item because all of the cabbies are REALLY good at it.

They do that here. There is also the barging into the traffic and blocking the lane they are crossing because they are far too impatient to wait manoeuvre.

As usual, so called professional drivers are often the worst drivers!

Actually its a de facto law that if a car is involved in an accident, one is a london cabbie and the other a man in his vauxhall astra off to work, the law will always put blame on the astra, this is the same if you hit a london bus.

Theres one major reason for this, both have passed tests on london roads whilst in their vehicles of work, both have extensive knowledge of the london road system.

As such they are fully aware what they can get away with, they obviously arent looking to crash AND like you say, can drive like idiots like any other road user, but they know the law favours them, and everyone drives like that in major cities anyway. Why? god knows...the last thing i want to do is cause a crash at piccadilly junction and bring london to a total standstill.
