It's the lenses that cost an arm and a leg;

:yes: I used to have terrible eyesight (-6.5 and -7 with astigmatism - bascially, without glasses everything was a blur of colours and I could only read if the book was about 20cm from my face). The price for lenses was horrific, particularly if you wanted the thinner lenses (which I always had otherwise it looked like you'd strapped two bottle bottoms to your frames :( ).

Just out of curiosity - would you consider surgery? I've had LASIK and it's made my life so much better - such as no more worrying that I won't be able to see for a day if I accidentally break my glasses (done, several times!).

For men of a certain age... ok... me. I am just as blind for near as I am for far vision (-3.25 on both eyes also with astigmatism), and I can't see anything but a blur on the dashboard while driving, so LASIK would not prevent me from putting on glasses, so I didn't spend much time considering it.

According to my optician, that isn't an option anymore; it needed to be done when I was much younger; and back then, my mother didn't have the financial resources to pay; laser eye surgery cost an absolute bomb back in the late 80s/early 90s! But i doesn't bother me; I have learned to live with almost zero vision in my left eye; I can see light and colours by no definition!

It has been a somewhat TRYING day.

The fact that I awoke to the news about the BBC/Sky deal had occurred only compounded my MANY current problems which include housing, income, relatives, employment and representation. Massively stressful times at the moment. I only hope they end soon. :cryfloods:

Woke up to the F1 news with an "eh?" Then had the traditional "Shut the f*** up you noisy bloody Poles" to the numptys below my bedroom, though not at a traditional time - first time I'd seen 7.30am in weeks. Trip to the doctor, chemist and then a very strange interview this afternoon.

Now sitting on here ranting about the BBC. :ranting:

Photography session at the harbour entrance tomorrow afternoon may have a calming effect (I likes me ships). :D

Spent a beautiful Midsummer evening having a few pints at a local pub with a good friend of mine. Seriously happy times. :)

I've been making due with a hobbled chair at home for a while now. I work from home and spend far too long sitting in front of my computer so I got one of these. My @ss has never felt so good. :hehe:
