Well Di Resta was the only 1 affected by the burnout and he did say he didn't see him, believe Hamilton or don't i would guess you and Andrew would instantly choose not to going off previous attitudes towards him.

But anyway not saying he wasn't in the wrong or that he didn't deserve the penalty but in that position i doubt many drivers would have done it differently.

He lost the race because of bad mistakes made by him, the team or most likely a combination of the both, do you really need to spout Hamilton hatred aswell? he did apologise to Di Resta ^^

No one is spouting hatred. We are just discussing an incident. Besides, this is very tame compared with some of the pish that gets flung at Vettel.

There have been similar incidents and on most occasions the driver waits until the traffic has passed. Hamilton in his eagerness to get on with the race was a bit too quick to get going. Just one of those things, accept it and move on. Hamilton has is his post race interview is anything to go by.

I think a similar thing happened with Lewis in his GP2 days

I see what you mean!

It's amazing that he still does it!

But even then you could argue it's still not comparable because of differences in how competitive the cars they have had at the time were!

Oh dear, i fear we're about to get bogged down and go round in circles here :hehe:

ok, lets look at Schumachers wins

1992 - Had the 2nd or 3rd fastest car, 1-2 Seconds a lap slower than Mansell at stages of the race.
1994 - Same pace as Hill and crushed him (before being harshly stripped of the win)
1995 - Same pace as the Williams, had to come from P16 on the grid. Hill started 8th and still lost.
1996 - 3rd Fastest car - The Willams and Benetton were a lot quicker
1997 - 2nd fastest car - Willams was much faster
2001 - Fastest car
2002 - Fastest car

So, out of Schumacher's 7 wins (6 if you dont count 1994), he only had the fastest car twice. This I think proves how good Schumacher was around a drivers curcuit.

I'm not doubting he was good, just that Raikkonen was better  as i already said regarding 2004. And who had the best car in that straight head to head fight.... See, i said it'd just end up going round in circles and here we are. :hehe:

PS 1994 wasn't harsh, if you break the rules then there's no real argument against it...

Schumacher didn't breack the rules. He spun on a kerb and ground part of the plank away. Disqualification was extremely harsh but that wasn't the only FIA decision that stunk that year. This would have been during Max Mosleys Williams period when he was best pals with them. I recall them having Ferrari type privileges at that time.

I know exactly what happened in 1994 (including that the plank wear didn't match their excuse) already, doesn't change my view.

I don't buy it. Williams veto power and all that. Much like Ferrari ruling the roost a few years ago.

Hello to all, I've been away for a while! :wavey: I watched the race, and, I must admit that McLaren is really pushing Red Bull right now, especially when it comes to the race pace.
I'm glad to see Button win here, again. My favorite driver extended his lead yet again, so, I'm glad about that too. I wonder how will I survive this 4 weeks without F1! :hehe:

Exactly, plus, there is no way that Schumacher should have had a 2 race ban for Silverstone, where Hakkinen only got a 1 race ban for consistently causing chaos. A bit harsh, but conspiracy theorists would argue that the FIA did this to advoid a 3rd consecutive boring championship (after Prost and Mansell dominated 92 and 93).

I thought it was more to do with Max Mosley jumping into bed with whichever team were winning and giving them "special pivleges".

Just got a chance to watch the race today after a couple of weeks away from home... pretty good race over all, probably the most exciting first five laps of any race this year! McLaren embarrassed Ferrari & Red Bull, because they do let their drivers race, no doubt and it's amazingly refreshing to see and even more entertaining to watch.

Something the Tifosi and Red Bull fans don't get to feel the thrill of.
