Next race is a week away so wanted to get this thread out the door early...

Talking points, I think it's a poor call that Buemi got a five place grid penalty for his incident with Heidfeld. At the very least give him a drive through in the GP, what there wasn't enough time to make a decision?

Second there were a number of us (myself included) saying that if things kept the way they were, that it would be all over by Germany... well Germany has come and gone and there is more hope now with the double... no... triple threat of Ferrari and McLaren being competitive AND Webber waking up...

I'd feel very sorry for that Irish bookie if the unimaginable were to happen. Yeah it's extremely unlikely that Vettel will fail to successfully defend hit WDC, but perhaps we can push the inevitable off to India or maybe even Abu Dhabi with continued results like Siverstone and Nurburgring.

Oh, one more wonderful thing... it's actually back on SPEED instead of the pathetic FOX coverage, so I don't have to miss things like Alonso hitching a ride on Webber's car.

OH YEAH... how can I forget, it's also my FAVORITE looking F1 trophy!

Senna will be driving Heidfeld's car for first practice. I think that McLaren will have another strong race here, so with Lewis in the kind of mood he was in this weekend, a podium would not be unexpected.

Disagree with the penalty. I myself thought it was more of a racing incident. Accidents like that are always likely with a driver trying to pass on the outside of an entry into a chicane. Furthermore, as you said, the stewards had ample time to sort this out during the race.

The might of McLaren and Ferrari is never something to be brushed aside. They're massive, they're passionate, they're more experienced than anyone, they're more successful than anyone and they never stay behind for long :twisted::twisted::twisted:8-)8-)8-)8-)

(Furthermore, I think it's my favourite trophy too :) )

I wasn't clear, I didn't think it deserved a penalty and Heidfeld had no business sticking his nose there to begin with, but if you're going to penalize the guy at least do it in the same race it would have been an easier pill to swallow than now falling five grid spots back in Hungary. For STR that assures him a start from the 10th row or worse.

A good talking point indeed. To me it seemed like a very similar Lewis/Jenson in Canada. Anyone? Lewis was largely blamed for that as he was the 'overtaking' car, however, it seems this little incident has Buemi on the guilty side.

CONSISTENCY please! :director:

This could be Renault thinking of putting Bruno in a race seat before the season ends, Petrov has had the egde over a dissapointing Nick all season.

In qualifying yes, but NIck has been better in races...he leads Petrov in the standings. Albeit with some bad luck as well.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Red Bull will be back in form for this race, probably a Sebastian Vettel romp to the chequered flag as per the first half of the season! But I hope that Germany's showing will continue; it'd be nice to see a few drivers vying for wins in the second half of the season, although I still see the championship as a forgone conclusion unfortunately.

This tracks a big karting track, its all about downforce and the weather should be warm. So expect Redbull to be back on top.

Please please please let this happen! :cloud9::cloud9:

He got some decent results last season in a vastly inferior car. Can someone inform me of why he was dropped from HRT?

Reportedly there were attitude issues. He certainly seemed to annoy Colin Kolles.

Abysmal results there last year for McLaren... and the qualifying was embarrassing so I'm not holding my breath. Rather wait for Spa.

Aye, Red Bull won the race comfortably last year with Webber, even after Ferrari's strong pace at Hockenheim. McLaren had an awful weekend. Button qualified and finished poorly, while Hamilton was doing OK until the gearbox packed in. I'm hoping for better this time round.... And hopefully Lewis and Jenson will BOTH finish the race :banghead:
