Consolation is Spa is next, and the Spa-meister has just lost a win from his own slipup. Revenge in a month's time, till then enjoy the break! :drink:

I don't see where Kimi fits in to this.

Schumacher is the only Spa master.

:nono:

Kimi Raikkonen was legendary, as was Schumacher until Kimi outraced him in 2004 of all years, and Hamilton is pretty good there too.

Nice try Hamiltonian and fellow Raikkonenian! :hehe:

Schumacher's results since his debut in 1991 are: DNF, 1st, 2nd, 1st (DSQ), 1st, 1st, 1st, DNF, DNS, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, DNF, 7th.
Raikkonen's results since 2001 are: DNF, DNF, 1st, 1st, 1st, 18th, 1st.
Hamilton's results since 2007 are: 4th, 3rd, DNF, 1st

Schumacher is the only guy to own the 7km track. No one has come close yet. Actually, some of his races in torrential rain should be taught in driving schools, but not the one where Coulthard was in the way.

Raikkonen has won 4/7 of his races there
Schumacher has won 1/2 of his races there

Raikkonen has the higher percentage of victories in a given time.

Raikkonen was impressive but he was either win or bust at Spa. Schumachers races here were, more for me, more impressive though, winning in slower and faster cars. Spend some time on youtube and watch each of his races, especially in the rain. Them's were the days. :cloud9: His 1992 win in the Benetton on a drying track was immense. Nothing at Spa has matched up to that since.

The point is that when Raikkonen truly rocked up Schumacher couldn't beat him. And which driver has the best wins/starts ratio out em? :hehe:

That's the natural way of things, eventually the order changes. That doesn't detract from the results though.

If you look at Schumachers first 7 races and compare them to Raikkonen's then Schumacher comes out on top. Unless their F1 careers were the same length your comparing apples and oranges.

Not comparable then? In which case to say Schumacher is the ONLY Spa master is thus incorrect.

Their results over their entire career are not comparable. We have to look at them over the same number of years i.e. Schumachers first 7 years and Raikkonen's first 7 years.

That's ridiculous. Their careers were totally different lengths. Driving for different teams in different eras.

So how can Raikkonen the the Spa master?
#268984
But even then you could argue it's still not comparable because of differences in how competitive the cars they have had at the time were!

Oh dear, i fear we're about to get bogged down and go round in circles here :hehe:

I'm asking that about Schumacher. So this debate is futile, as scotty has said.

Shouldn't have started onthe Spa-meister thing then. I notice the one who first used the term Spa-meister is conspicuous in their absence. :groucho:

It is just a case of :deadhorse: .

Can we eat it? I mean, it would be a shame to let it go to waste...

I'm so proud of derailing this thread.:P

Wasn't my intention though.

So the contestants are...Michael, Lewis, and Kimi for the title of Spa-meister.

Michael - all PEAR SHAPED now (history is history, period)

Kimi - Racing in some destruction derby contest for all I know

Lewis - The new Spameister.

End of.
