Just a thought. Jenson is only twelve points behind Hamilton, despite having an extra retirement. They certainly are turning out to be more evenly matched in terms of results this year. JB has actually been on the podium more.

Ooooh, this borders on heresy in the eyes of some on here :yikes::hehe:

Come on, it's not like it's the first time. :P

I am not A Hamilton or McLaren fan but I really feel bad for Hamilton!!

1. It really sucks that he had to enter to the pits 6 times!! 6 TIMES!! Double the number button went in.

2. I have A feeling that McLaren are maybe trying to piss him off?! Make him come to the conclusion that he should leave? Well lets wait and see, or maybe they are just lousy at McLaren?!
Cause A: Hamilton spend in the the pits on average almost 2 seconds more than vettel each time they entered and 1 second more than button, these gaps are not acceptable.
b: The desicions made for Hamilton were lousy cause beside the punishment I can't understand why he had to enter the pits TWICE MORE than button, and it is not the FIRST OR SECOND TIME that Hamilton gets screwed by these type of decisions.

3. I will give you my personal opinion, you'll don't have to agree with it but it is mine and actually many more think the same way I do!:
I feel that if Hamilton was white he would have had A much more sucsessful career, yeah I know some, few people don't want to believe or on the other hand want to dismiss any attempt of Race being involved, but it's A fact and unfortiunitly for Hamilton he won't be able to achive and maximize his complete potential.

4. The thing that was most annoying about this race was that Button won, he is such A mediocre driver (all of the media in my country think so!), he really lacks talent, but you know that you can't do anything when politics and other kind of irrelevant rubbish is involved, and F1 have proven that they are capable to hand over the title to A mediocre driver.

Ridiculous.

Another Button win by stealth with no one noticing him until he’s in the lead.

I certainly noticed him as he worked his way past Vettel. I also found him hard to miss as he battled with team-mate Hamilton. Good on McLaren for having the guts to let their drivers race... something that never fails to make RBR and Ferrari faint at the thought of.

Er, I was meaning he played it cool and took it steady. Certainly for the early part of the race Button was just in the background until the right time.

Then to cap it all he nearly took out di Resta and the guy behind (can’t remember who that was). It was stupid for him to not wait until there was a bit of a gap and the penalty was just.

He possesses a racer's instinct, and had the lead at stake. He said he didn't see Di Resta at all, which is supported by the analysis of footage, but I doubt BBC 5 Live commentary would've gone into that.

Furthermore, you say Hamilton's switch of tyres was a "rookie" mistake. It also seems that BBC 5 Live missed the massive factor that caused the cock-up... radio-communication failure.

Oh don’t give me that racer’s instinct crap - they all have that so that excuse doesn't wash! It was a mind fart, simple as that.

Did you not see the spin and recovery from on-board Hamilton’s car? It was bloody close - I actually winced when I saw him swing the car roudn and the di resta getting pretty close! If he couldn’t see the white, green and orange car coming towards him then I would be concerned. The camera picked it up clearly so I don’t believe for one minute that any driver in that situation wouldn’t have seen the car coming towards them. Ok he wouldn’t have seen the Lotus, the Williams is debateable but he would have definitely seen the Force India. Those darn Force India's with their cloaking device!

The Radio 5 commentary said the penalty was harsh but understandable.

The switch of tyres wasn’t what I was referring too. His spin with no pressure on him was a rookie mistake. Got on the kerbs too much and around he went. I don't think the radio failure didn’t come out until after the race so of course it wouldn’t be picked up!

1. Them's the breaks. Shouldn't have done something stupid and got a penalty and he should have been kinder to the tyres.

2. :bs:

3. Are you serious?! There should be an instant ban for anyone who plays the race card, especially when it is irrelevant. :nono:

4. Man them grapes are sour! :rotfl:

I'm glad you said that we don't have to agree with what you wrote 'cos I just don't buy it.

Well, that's down to two poor strategy choices and an action that warranted a penalty, but that's motor racing.

Nonsense. It was a clutch issue on Hamilton's car that caused his slow getaways, not something that the team were doing.

b: The desicions made for Hamilton were lousy cause beside the punishment I can't understand why he had to enter the pits TWICE MORE than button, and it is not the FIRST OR SECOND TIME that Hamilton gets screwed by these type of decisions.

Look back at the races where Hamilton has lost out on strategy to Button and you'll often find that Button has made his own calls or gone against what the team were wanting (today is a prime example), whereas Hamilton has gone along with the team strategy and it hasn't always worked out. This is one of the big differences: Jenson has an excellent feel for grip levels and is bold enough to make these calls. Sometimes they don't work and he's admitted such, but when they do, we've seen him go on to win races, or finish strongly (again, Monza 2010 is a good example of thinking differently and getting it right).

3. I will give you my personal opinion, you'll don't have to agree with it but it is mine and actually many more think the same way I do!:

Nonsense, it frustrates me how often this card is place. Hamilton has had huge success and has been pushed by McLaren from a very young age. How many other drivers (regardless of race or nationality) have had this?

4. His results say otherwise. Mediocre drivers don't put in such great performances and don't win championships. Frentzen, Coulthard and Patrese are three examples of drivers who sat in very strong (even dominant) cars and didn't win the title. Fact is, McLaren wouldn't have signed him if he was a mediocre driver and he certainly wouldn't be pushing his team-mate so hard (Lewis admits this) if he was.

No matter Lewis is still ahead of Button and 99% will finish ahead of him again this year.

The race was lost for Lewis when the team made the decision to the stay on the soft instead of switching to the prime on the 3rd pit stop.

It was a team decision and one that made me realise from that moment that Lewis had lost the race.

Glad for McLaren but bad decision by the team.

Jenson was also told to stick the inters on when Lewis did but ignored that command.

I did see this on the Autosport sidebar.

Jenson Button's all-time top 10 wins
To mark Jenson Button's 200th grand prix start in Hungary, Edd Straw takes a look back on the former world champion's career and picks out his 10 best victories.

Now, it looks like it was written before the race. Jenson had only won ten races by this point...easy article, much? :hehe:

When the race card is played it sets alarm bells ringing with me. People are all the same as far as I am concerned. It doesn't matter where they are from, the colour of their skin or their religion.

Good race. Weird. I think the Pirelli tires have put on an impressive show, the races have mostly all been very exciting.

Tough luck for Lewis... kinda not deserved that penalty for the burnout... sure, it looked dangerous, but there was not much else to do there...

Button... wow.
He got his first F1 win in Hungary as well... in similar conditions. I think its fair to say he's simply great at these sort of difficult races. Hats off.

2 wins in a row from Mclaren... boy how would the championship look without the 2 Button mishaps; in any case Vettel is indestructible already. Simply too consistent... nothing to do there.

He should have waited for the traffic to clear before spinning around and re-joining the fray - the way he did it was too dangerous, hence the dim view the stewards took on this.
