hehe, this season's shaping up really nicely. does anyone expect Piquet to challenge Alonso for the greater number of points? Bearing in mind he was Lewis's big rival in GP2? Can't see it myself but after last year, wouldn't really like to predict anything

Piquet Jr. may be just as arrogant as his dad was when he was still racing, I cant say personaly, but on-track result's are what count's.

Piquet's attitude problem will be good for the sport, because you need to have lots of different varieties of characters in any sport. One trait I hope Jr has picked up from Sr was his sense of humour. Will he do the old "pretend the trophy weighs like a tonne of bricks" trick when he gets on the podium? Will he pour a jug of water into Max Mosley's jacket in a briefing like Sr did to Balestre - to which Mosley's response will probably be "HUMBUG!!!" unlike Balestre who burst out laughing.

Some people say the days of charasmatic F1 drivers is dead, true we don't have James Hunt or Eddie Irvine with fit ladies hanging off them today, but we have got people like Kimi the iceman who when sober sounds like Bryan Robson, but when drunk is a different man.

I won't exactly say Irvine had charisma... I would also go further and say that, in general at least, the days of charismatic sports stars in general are dead.

Mosley would probably terminate his super licence and take him to court.

I agree that Piquet's arrogance will be good for Formula One. We haven't seen too much wheel-banging in the last lot of years.

Yeah, charging him for ruining a suit that probably only cost him £25 from Matalan which would spin dry easily.

And when we did at the Nurburgring, Alonso threw a fit over a few scratches which put a sour note on what had been a great race.

wonder if Alonso is having dejavu about having a rookie team mate
but i hear its in Alonso's contract that he is the number 1 so whats Piquet going to do if he is naturally faster? is Renault going to screw with his tyre pressures or deliberately break his front wing or bla bla bla what ever else it was that Alonso fans claimed McLaren did to him in 07
i wonder if the FIA will appoint a fair play tzar if Piquet isnt given equal treatment?? hmmm na they wont do that its not McLaren we are talking about here, s*** throw McLaren on that stake and set it on fire Max

Briatore knows how to manage his drivers. He realises Formula One is a team sport and will make whatever decision is necessary for the good of the team. Even if it means Alonso gets the newer parts and the better strategy.

Some drivers need to be on top of team politics to perform.

I feel sorry for Kovalainen who really busted himself and gave the only respectful drives to Renault's empty season... but the thing is this move is probably a sponsor's deal. Since Flavio is stingy, then he probably got the money for Alonso from the fact that Piquet Jr. and Alonso are very marketable. It should be an interesting line-up, heck! the whole grid will be interesting.

Now... who will be Hamilton's #2??
Rosberg made the statment already: he will not be Hamilton's #2

kovi did a great job this season and deserves a drive with a top team. Hopefully Mclaren will sign him but reports i'm reading is that they are putting de la rosa in the car to prevent any rival to hamilton

The WDC-WCC title or a race? I would rejoice if Renault won the WDC or WCC again because of what they mean to F1 as a whole but Piquet Jr. not Alonso. I've alway's had issue's with snake's in the backyard now one has invaded the sport I love, oh H#LL no!

im sure all of you are with me on that!

Yah we are  !

wdc and wcc, theyll win all the races

i have a fondness for alonso, he helped renault win 2 titles and ive been watching out for im since testing for renault, but i wasnt impressed when he went to mclaren! nor with him while he was at mclaren

i just hope i get to see him as he was the first year as wdc for renault

but ill always support renault over a driver
