We know team orders are legal :wavey: The problem people have is this...................

"No, we let our drivers race," he said. "Massa's still in this championship, or maybe he's signed a contract that says he's a number two driver, but I think that it's wrong for the sport. The drivers should've been allowed to race.'' Horner

Kobayashi is maybe in the game. Or Alguersuari. That kid is getting better and better.

You're right - Algy is getting better with race pace. But his qualifying in my opinion is terrible. Unfortunately Buemi retired so I couldn't compare them again.

Regarding the team orders, I actually feel quite disillusioned. I love the team, I support the team on every decision. In the end it didn't really matter as Webber ignored them - but perhaps he backed off towards the end.

It's getting really hard to prove the Vettel-haters wrong, when, at the only opportunity that he has to prove he can handle a high-pressure situation, the team try to protect him. I still think Vettel is absolutely epic. Did anyone see his tires at his first stop? That kid is a freak when it comes to managing tires. Goes to prove he could've managed at Monaco as well.

I wanted to come to forums today and say "Look at my boy Vettel! Fast, tire freak, and able to overtake (Massa) and hold off (Webber)! " Sadly it wasn't the case today. It's starting to seem like he will never get the chance to prove his critics wrong.

I think that after today's race - both Webber and Red Bull will part ways by mutual consent at the end of the year. Red Bull wouldn't want him because he showed today again that he was not a team player. And Webber wouldn't want it because they attempted to rob him off a second place finish today.

I'm also extremely critical of Horner saying that both drivers "would" have ended up in the fence - as one newspaper quoted him on saying. I think the correct word should be "could" have.

All-in-all it's a bitter pill for me to swallow - even though I still agree with the team's decision.

Both drivers huh? Whatever makes you sleep better, and no I don't hate Vettel.

I do

Why, Did he bully you as a child? :P

Nope, he would be someone that would get bullied :nono:

What an idiotic thing to say. The kids is one of the friendliest faces in the sport. Sure, I'd rather see a mclaren at the lead but I'm not gonna senselessly hate on him.

Goes to prove he could've managed at Monaco as well..

Hardly. Those inters give drives a whole hell of a lot more breathing room when they are about to die, the supersoft and soft tires there is only grip and death.

Poor show Horner. Ive nothing against Vettel, He's not my favourite driver but as a guy he's growing on me. Horner is another matter, he's hypocritical and down on Mark. Since the rule change ferrari wanted its ok to not let your drivers race, so technically he's done nothing wrong, but morally he has.

You all know I am a webber fan; there is no doubt about that. However, I do think for the sake of the constructor's championship, the call for webber to "maintain the gap" could be completely in the interests of making sure both cars finished on the podium, especially with only 1.5 laps left, where horner wouldn't have cared who was in front of who, but only that both made it to the podium. (having typed that, I realize that I don't believe it  but I'm trying to be objective here!)

Of course, if it had happened 10 laps before the race end, I'd be up in arms...but then that leads me to ask, where is the cut off for that, if it is indeed in the interest of making sure both cars finish? I guess it's the same with 1.5 laps to go or 30 to go....idk. Just throwing my thoughts out. As much as I like webber I can understand both sides of the argument, especially given webber and vettel's past. I really really really really really would like to believe they want both guys to race, and that this was just a call to protect the constructor's points, but my gut is telling me it's not so.

Trust your gut.

I don't like to see it either but it's legal now. Horner's word means nothing after his comments last year but I do understand what he and RB are doing/did. Ferrari looks fast now with the changes and Mc not bad either(Hamilton). If the season were to start at silverstone, I would put some money on Alonso being champion. 10 races left and Alonso is less than 100pts away from 1st with confidence and momentum. Say the renault has 2 engine failures, its not out of the question for RB and Vettel to lose the title. It will be hard to lose it, but it could happen. Its never to early to start protecting a lead. It may pay off in the end for RB. You never know.

They've won the constructors. Even with all the rule changes they were second and third yesterday. So why not let them fight it out for the drivers? Why keep treating Webber like a number 2 driver and babysitting vettel? He wont get proper respect for his driving while thats happenning. The situation is not fair for either driver or the fans.
#265160
Had it been Webber in the position and vettel catching up, they would have no objection for vettel to make the move and pass.

Mclaren doesnt show any team orders, though conflict has happened.. Its all on the driver's responsibility how he handles it.
#265167
The thing that amazed me about Horners comments is that it is a team sport and that he said he did not want the team throwing away a lot of points.

"Mark hold your possition" would mean Red Bull got a second and third.

"Webber is faster that you, Seb let him past" would mean Red Bull got a second and third. What if Alonso did a "Vettel" and drop it on the last lap and slid wide, but just getting back on track in front of Seb? However it would of been behind Webber if he had been let through. Possible 1st and 3rd there lost for Red Bull
#265172
Interesting to see the little confidence they have in Vettels lead, and Vettels ability to race, that theyd tell Mark not to race him.
#265178
Horner made himself look like a clown yesterday with that bullpoo. It's sad that Webber is being treated like a idiot.
He's not getting a fair crack at the whip again this season, because Seb's the No.1 driver who wins from the front. :hehe:
#265184
Whether he can only win from the front or can win driving from fifteenth on the grid, it all looks the same in the F1 record books. Give the guy a chance to at least enjoy his achievements. He's either as talented as his fans say, or he's only just better suited to drive the most dominant car on the grid than Webber.

Either way, he's winning now and all streaks come to an end but to accuse Red Bull of cheating us, or a conspiracy is ridiculous. Yes there are number two drivers up an down the grid, but in the end a number two driver has only three options, move on, improve to where they can beat the number one driver, or acquiesce.
#265186
I honestly don't think there is anything to be cheated about. Some teams are obvious in their use of team orders, others are subtle but most are hypocrites. Just the way it goes in F1.

Still, it's good to see someone driving at the top of their game so just sit back and enjoy that is what I say.
