having just spent the afternoon watching a great race does anyone else feel cheated that webber wasent allowed to try and beat his team mate . i watched the after race forum on the bbc and i think the excuse given was nothing more than bull.. it didnt matter for the constuctors points who finished 2nd or 3rd and the coments were that the team had commitments to there sponsers but what about the fans who turn up race after race just just to see at the last lap team orders taking s drivers chance away from him

Are Red Bull the first team to use team orders? No.
Will Red Bull be the last team to use team orders? No.

Team orders have been around since the very first race in F1.

The point about the constructors is had the drivers have raced each other, chances are they would have hit each other and only one car or even neither car would have finished.

Team orders are a necessary evil in F1 and motorsport in general. As fans we don't like them but in most instances they make perfect sence and are needed.

Incidently, did you feel cheated when Coulthard was asked to pull over for Hakkinen, or when Barrichello was asked to pull over for Schumacher, or when Massa was asked to pull over for Alonso to name a few that instantly spring to mind?

You dont have to feel cheated, Webber stated publicly he ignored the order and tried overtaking...but failed.

So you weren't hard done by. Smile! :)

While Ferrari assisted Fernando Alonso's title challenge by instructing co-driver Felipe Massa to make way in the German Grand Prix, there were no such team orders for Red Bull, who encouraged the competition between their championship-contending drivers.

"It just comes down to your philosophy of racing and we chose to give both our drivers absolute equality and a fair chance at it," Horner said.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: You NEVER fooled me Horner

I dont see why Horner should be blamed too much for the order. Sure, he's a hypocrite but they all are I think.

Last year, team orders were banned...and Redbull raced. This year, the FIA jokers have officially legalized it, thus Horner can even kick Webbers face on the starting grid if he wants to and tell the FIA "because he's no.2" and the FIA can't touch him. RB are playing within the rules like it or not.

The FIA are a joke...in more ways than one. And where is Todt in all this? Hiding under MIchelle Yeoh's skirt? Geez, give us back Max Mosley...he liked hookers a bit too much but at least he had balls.

There comes a point for a team boss that they have to say enough is enough, let's guarantee both cars finishing.

Than why didn't they tell Vettel "Webber is faster than you"??? We're talking about 3 mere points here.

If the roles were reversed would Horner tell Vettel to hold station or Webber to let him by????

Because Vettel is the one that will win the drivers championship, not Webber. Plus Vettel is the No. 1 driver in the team.

They all do it so why single out Red Bull? All team bosses say they won't use team orders yet they do, they are all hypocrites on this issue.

It's pretty funny how times change, It's up to Redbull how they manage their drivers, but it's hypocritical not to admit it.

Weren't they pretty loud about this "let them race philosophy"

And that's why I don't regard Vettel as a TOP driver. Because the only guy with the same car that can at least challenge him IS NOT ALLOWED TOO. They might as well come up with a rule that says "You finish in the order you qualified''

I don't really care but it just made Horner and Red Bull look like HYPOCRITES.

I'm sure Mark would love this rule, at least this way he would've won 2 this season. :D

Why single out Vettel? All of the top drivers have all benefitted from team orders at some point.

Because if Vettel is this superfast droid that his fans claim him to be he surely doesn't need his team to tell poor old Webber to hold station, does he? And it makes us wonder "what if" he was teammate with Alonso or Hamilton.

Team orders? Nothing new. This one wasn't even near the ones in the past. And, yet again, Webber didn't comply. Guess who's leaving Red Bull next year!
