Vettel was double exposed today.
First his ability to overtake which has been suspect all along and how a lot of fans have said he NEVER wins unless he's at the front.
And second the team not trusting him to have a clean fight with Webber, thus the "MAINTAIN THE GAP" message.

He didn't need to overtake as it was clear the Hamilton was pitting. Red Bull/Vettel were racing with their heads today. No point risking a smash. The maintain the gap message was to both drivers.

You realy hate Vettel don't you? I'm guessing your a Hamilton fan.

Team orders? Nothing new. This one wasn't even near the ones in the past. And, yet again, Webber didn't comply. Guess who's leaving Red Bull next year!

Be careful what you wish for... you may get a fast driver in Webber's place.

Word for word what i was going to say.

Christian Horner is a low dog who has been public about team orders not being present in Red Bull. He ridiculed Ferrari for doing it, and low and behold he & Red Bull Racing has done it -> Hypocrite!

For the sake of the championship as well, Webber is Vettels really only challenger this season, and yes 3pts wouldn't have meant a great deal but at least gave him a little bit of confidence going forward and make this season a little more entertaining.

Red Bull Racing you suck, and have lost all respect in issuing team orders

Or he couldn't do it :wavey: it's not for lack of effort, rather lack of skill.

Both drivers huh? Whatever makes you sleep better, and no I don't hate Vettel.

He could but didn't have to. Actually looking back the message was to Webber, thank for pointing out my mistake.

Bang on there they clearly have no faith in their drivers to respect each other on the track. They could of done the reverse and given Vettel the old Ferrari message "Mark is quicker than you.".

People pay to see racing they don't pay to see a procession with team orders. I laughed on the BBC F1 Forum where Eddie Jordan was only person to agree with Horner and clap him for his decision which was cringe worthy to see.

Nevermind a valuable 3 extra points for a man who has won the championship anyway.

Is there any possibility that Vettel will win this year's WDC by less than 3 points? It was a complete lack of trust. But at least it's completely within the rules!

It wasn't about who would get the three points, it was about avoiding a complete crash out of one or both of their cars and losing ALL points.

You all wanted team orders in F1 and here they are. I still think they should be banned.

Touche!!! hehehehe

All the other teams wanted team orders.

It's the old argument, its not that pretty, but the drivers are employees of the team, and must defer to the teams interests first.
