I cannot think of another 'sport' where such un-disguised bias exists from it's governing body.

I think the FIA have plumbed new depths with the farcical hearing involving Renault and McLaren. There will doubtless be hoards of red fans whooping with joy that their arch rival has once again been kicked royally in the balls, but think on..... how can it possibly benefit anyone to have this constant bias against a rival?

It truly devalues any success they have because the playing field is never level. I appreciate that everyone loves their own team and defends them normally no matter what, but even the most in-articulate halfwit must be able to see the point I'm making?

If I was Ron Dennis I would be sorely tempted to tell the FIA and Adolf Moseley to stick their so called 'sport' up their rectums and walk away. Of course it'll never happen because there's so much big money involved.

Now before all you people start bleating on about McLaren being sore losers etc etc (yawn yawn heard it all before), all I am arguing for is a corruption free governing body and a level playing field where crimes and punishments are concerned.

If the FIA can impose such a massive fine with little or no proof of any advantage being gained... why doesn't that rule follow on less than three months later? And, of course it's far from the first time that McLaren (or more accurately Ron Dennis I believe) have been subject of unfair, unjust and simply corrupt looking decisions.

I can honestly say I would think this way even if I wasn't a McLaren fan. The whole 'sport' sucks. Big Time.

If anyone can name another sport where this kind of un-even-handed-ness exists, I would love to hear about it. I bet no one can name one.

The FIA is the hand's down winner for the most corrupt governing body in all of sport's.

It is a complete joke and I'm a Honda fan. The FIA has so much power and control, they set the rules and enforce them. No wonder Max doesn't like Jackie as he always stood up to organisers throughout his career. We need an independent body as clearly we cannot rely on the FIA now.

Is it corupt? Yes absolutely.
Here is the FIA statement - http://www.fia.com/mediacentre/Press_Re ... 07-01.html

In short it makes the villain Philip Mackreth (which he is) and Renault has been a bit naughty.
That McL received such a pasting just a few months ago and that Renault have no penalty at all, despite even the FIA acknowledging severe breaches of the sporting code, is an absolute disgrace.
This is not about support for McL or even anti Ferrari, this is about an appalling organisation that must be 'restructured' from top to bottom. If things do not improve I may well cease being an F1 fan.
I cannot get my mind around how blatant this abuse is. I expected Renault to get a relatively small penalty but not no penalty at all. Appalling behavior. I suggest that we all bombard the FIA offices with letters, faxes and 'phone calls, -

From autosport.com:

FIA to sue the Sunday Times

By Jonathan Noble Friday, December 7th 2007, 14:03 GMT

The FIA intends to sue English newspaper the Sunday Times for libel, after the action was authorised by the World Motor Sport Council at its meeting today in Monaco.

A statement issued afterwards said the decision was taken because the newspaper had "ran an article claiming that the FIA was engaged in a witch-hunt against the McLaren-Mercedes team."

It is believed the matter refers to a column that former Grand Prix driver and ITV commentator Martin Brundle wrote on race day at the Italian Grand Prix.

It was headlined: "Witch-hunt threatens to spoil world title race" and was critical of the manner in which the FIA had handled the McLaren spying affair.

NO NO NO that idea had been tried and failed and it would ruin the entire series. The biggest problem with the FIA is Max Mosley, he need's to go and the board need's to have a rep from every team competeing in F1 on it. I'm certain they need outside representatives also, I'm just throwing out a few idea's at the 'drop of a hat' so to speak.

Ron tried it thats why max hates him. Im all for bombarding the FIA offices and am in agreement with all the posters about this, This seems one thing we are all of the same mind about. Its disgraceful. What can we do??????

Good luck to the Sunday Times and they have a bit more evidence after todays decision.

Getting rid of Mosley is only a very short term solution. The fact is the system is open to so many abuses it won't take long for another Mosley or Balestre to crop up. The system needs overhauled: everybody should get equal voting rights on the WMSC, the president should be more accountable, the rules should be less open to interpretation, there must be more consistency in rulings, and vendettas and grudges should not be allowed to interfere with the running the sport.
