The biggest argument in Jenson's favour in this case is that he never deviated from the racing line, he acted like he would have if Hamilton wasn't there at all. I'm still surprised the move turned out the way it did, in this case I think Hamilton could've expected his track position to be "acknowledged".

I'll guess we'll never know, but the line at the moment is "Jenson didn't see him", and I guess only Jenson knows if it really was the truth or not. Him shouting "What was he doing", suggests he was genuinely surprised to see Lewis there.

I think it suggests the exact opposite.

Why does it still matter, this is getting boring, we'll never know if jenson meant it, jenson on, lewis crashed. END.
#261401
Why is that?

If you hit your team mate accidentally, you'd be thinking 'oh s***!' you wouldnt be shouting " whats he doing". It was a guilty call I thought to try to pass blame. Im sure plenty of others would do it in the same circumstances. I doubt Jens wanted to take Lewis off, but neither did he want him coming past for a second time. He crowded him too much and when he realised what had happened he tried to cover by saying what he did.

This is purely speculation, I admit, but I have a feeling the "What's he doing?" call came when Lewis cut the following corner with his broken wheel and nearly ran into Jenson. Not during the actual contact. Unfortunately there's no way to really know when he said that. Either way, I'm not sure we can put to much weight on in-car radio comments since they are all out of context.

Are we still talking about this; the drivers have talked and everything is cool (at least outwardly); Jenson apologised for not seeing him and Lewis has accepted his apology. Looking as the spray I believe that Jenson did not see Lewis coming up the inside, it didn't look like Jenson moved abruptly to block Lewis, he was simply moving across to take the racing line for turn one. I know that Jenson is desperate to beat Lewis but to risk his own race as well; that's not in Jenson's nature, after all he is Mr. Play-it-safe!

That's what it appeared like on the live coverage but you have to remember that the radio communications are delayed...

I understand they're delayed, and actually, the radio call was aired way after both incidents. But everyone just assumed it was in regards to the contact.

The race Jenson drives most like Lewis, he winds up winning. :hehe: You can't make this stuff up! I do hope he doesn't lose fans though for his reckless on track behavior and putting other drivers lives at risk.

Jenson won, McLaren fans can take some solace in that... certainly better than another Vettel win. We move forward to Valencia, and then Silverstone but to continue discussing this is pointless since we'll never know. I'd like to belive it was accidental, with no mal-intent and in the end Lewis is the only one that has to believe it, and from the post race celebrations it looks as if he's very happy to have had his teammate win if he couldn't.

I would like to see out and out racing; otherwise I wouldn't have the Stirling Moss quote in my signature but sadly we don't live in Sterling Moss' time of racing. In today's F1 you can't simply throw one down the inside and hope for the best as you'll get penalised as Hamilton did in Monaco, he needs to play the game by the rules or expect punishment! I'm willing to bet that Lewis would have been penalised for the collision with Button and Button penalised for his coming together with Alonso if the race was dry!

Probably. STUPIDO!!
Apart from it being stupid, its interesting that you think Lewis would have got it for the Button one when Button has apologised to lewis and most now see the fault, deliberate or not, as jenson's. I agree with you, Lewis would have had the punishment. If he hadnt already been taken out by a punishment for the webber one

If others want to continue a discussion, what concern is it of yours?

Your discussions here have a detrimental effect on whatever discussions i may wish to have in future threads thats my concern.

Not to mention all youve done is argue your point, "listened" to other point, argued your point again, "listened" to other point again, it was just quite obvious that nobody is going to budge. The outcome is the same no matter what aswell.

The Lewis/Jenson incident probably wouldn't have happened in the dry as Jenson would have been able to see Hamilton coming up the inside and allowed some room and attacked Lewis around turn 2 if he could have remained alongside or immediately tuck under Lewis' rear wing. Jenson never has been a dirty driver; he's uber fair which has been to his detriment at times!
