McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari...This kid is just awesome. All he needs is a front-runner and he'll be untouchable. Heck, I like him so much I would even be happy seeing him in a Ferrari!

:hehe:

But seriously, I'm sure he'll be a future F1 champ. He's got the stuff.

Same sentiments here...I don't mind him in a Ferrari either! Wayyy better ROI for Ferrari, instead of keeping that mug Massa in anyway.

:yes::yes:

Apart from his great driving I love Kobayashi's attitude. He just goes out there and drives. If things go wrong you never hear an excuse or complaint, he doesn't let it get to him and makes the most out it.

If (when please :D ) he moves to a top team I hope the extra pressure and money don't change that about him

Perez is from the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) so, he'd be the more likely Sauber driver to move to Ferrari. Which means, if a major team is to pick up Kobi it might be McLaren or, to a lesser extend Red Bull.

The Sauber seems to be a handy car to have this year, they have left Force India, Willaims and STR behind and putting up the challenge to Merc and Renault. If any of the big 3 teams slip up in any of the races I'm sure Kobi can pick up the pieces in the Sauber.

but yes, it would be great to see Kobi in one of the top teams fighting with the top drivers.

:( McLaren driver lineup looks like it will be locked for a few years to go. I don't know about when Webber is thinking of retiring.

The Red Bull is more of a mystery, while I'm sure they would like to put another one of the Red Bull academy drivers in I just don't see enough potential in Buemi or Alg to run a top car. Vettel is strong but he won't go winning WCC on his own

As great as he would be for Red Bull, I want their Junior Academy to keep progressing. And that means both Ricciardo and more importantly Vergne need seats ASAP. Perhaps next year it will be RBR Vettel/Buemi and STR Ricciardo/Vergne.

So - where does that leave Kobayashi? I think in a Ferrari he would be great. Or maybe Schumacher's seat? I can't see seats opening up in Renault and McLaren anytime soon. See that's the thing: It's either Ferrari/RBR/McLaren or no one. Sauber has the potential to be the best of the rest soon.

However Perez is also driving great. Maaaan - they are a fantastic team. Sauber to make a big step forward next year? It would be nice to see them get a Japanese Engine deal.... :cloud9:

Trust me, you dont dislike Ferrari as much as I do. But I think it'd be good for Koba to get some top flight experience before hitting the real seat - McLaren. 8-)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he goes to Williams and helps them rebuild. That would be an awesome legacy if they can get their car straightened out in the next couple of years. I just don't see Ferrari, McLaren, RBR, or Merc taking him any time soon.

I think almost everyone wants to see Kobayashi in a front-running car!!

Out of the main three, i think i would most like to see him in the other Ferrari seat. Ferrari need to sling Massa ASAP, it's really affecting them in the constructors championship. At least the Red Bull's and Mclaren's can put each driver on a different strategy and have a better chance of winning/a podium, Ferrari have to try and pick the best strategy for Alonso and just hope it all works out for them. If there was another Ferrari in the mix at Catalunya, it may of made a difference to Alonso's final place.

Just my two-penneth...

The problem is, there are too many good drivers deserving of top seats and not enough top seats available. Kobayashi, Kubica, Rosberg, Hulkenberg, di Resta, even Petrov (who is really starting to impress me this year) all have the potential to fight for wins in better cars. This is before taking in to account drivers who haven't even made it to F1 yet (Ricciardo, Bianchi and Bird are all looking impressive in junior categories, in my opinion). But there are only three teams really capable of providing that winning machinery at the moment (Renault and Mercedes may have some good days, but not consistently at the moment) and they already have at least one top driver each. :(
