- 23 May 11, 06:42#256707Electromagnetism is when a magnetic field is produced by an electric current. Not really an issue in and of itself. Magnetic fields aren't dangerous, but the electric current used to create them can be. So if we assume that said current is high enough, and has somehow shorted onto the frame or other conducive component (possible given that we know RBR has had to be creative with regards to packaging)... it could definitely create a hazard to those without protection.
But I think the electrical danger comes from the batteries that store the KERS charge. I think they're relatively simple chemical cells used in production hybrid vehicles. I could be wrong.
Maybe in order to get KERS to fit, they've had to disassemble the stock Renault system and re-assemble, or completely leave off, parts that provide extra security... interesting thought.
