Until I hear it from a reliable English source, BBC, Autosport etc, I won't believe that the 1.6 L4T has been scrapped; I don't believe that the FIA would do such a massive U-Turn so readily.
Why english? most engine manufacturers are not english...
Anyway... finally some hope into avoiding the crappy I4. They want to save costs: keep the V8. They want to appear greener... V6 with some fuel restrictions........
About the front wing... i never understood the stupidity behind increasing the size of the front wing while narrowing the front wheels, to encourage passing. That makes absolutely no sense!!
The one thing that impairs the cars following is aerodynamics; the front wing is an aero device. Increasing its size, means increasing the dependency of the car on it. Losing efficiency (ie trailing a car) makes the car less capable. The absolute no brainer solution was to increase the slick front tire's width (even just a little, if they are so concerned with cornering speeds) and decrease the size or complexity of the front wing.
That encourages passing. I can't believe they never did this, instead they came up with the stupid button and a flashing green light to show its system-go... to introduce a moveable aero part, which was not allowed to begin with. Makes me wonder... why is other moveable aero not allowed then?? what about the s pirit of the rules??

Came out fighting indeed.
