Yes, although Max (you know the wise FIA guru) did say that the McL fine was geared towards what they could afford, so maybe they would use that to levy a lower fine for Renault. Difficult for FIA to justify that though, since the 'crime' looks (at this stage) considerably worse.
Maybe Renault (parent) would bung some dollars in the pot rather than see the embarrasment of their F1 team folding, its major tool in the Renault marketing brand, trouble is renault arn't making much money on the crappy road cars so maybe they could not justify it - I dunno - have to wait & see. I think that Flavio might lose his job though - even if only for appearences sake.

If Renault folds I wonder if Pro Drive might buy?

Its all ridiculous, this goes on and has gone on since racing began. The problem occured when Max and the FIA suddenlydecided that it couldnt go on because ferrari were kicking off about it, and when Ferrari kick off the FIA jump. Add to that the ridiculous out of proportion penalty because Max hates Ron and you have the mess we are now in. The FIA have to penalise Renault more than McLaren if that evidence is true and that will put them out. Absolutely stupid; but its either that or they recind mcLarens punishment. What a load of dickheads!! Well at least they'll get their ferrari showcase at this rate!

If Ferrari were in bed wih the FIA then why were team orders banned After Austriagate and the team fined?

because the outcry of the fans forced their hand, the punishment was lenient at best! they didnt even lose constructor points for that race like McLaren did at Hungary this year on the same grounds of team orders!
