We're comparing him to younger f1 drivers he's competing up against, he's obviously physically capable of driving an f1 car as he's been doing so.

The point is, if his physical attributes have declined to the point where he's no longer competitive.

I'd say MS is in better shape than the youngsters.

Based on what?

Anyway, everyone gets old, I'm pretty sure reflexes, eyesight declines naturally. Obviously the extent at least will vary from individual to individual, when I can be bothered I'll look it up.

Nigel Mansell won his title at 39 and I doubt he was anywhere in Schumi's shape, but the apologists have to blame something It's simple Schumacher SUX and Rosberg is serving his arse on a plate.

I don't think the physical demands were the same. Or the competitiveness with fitness from the other drivers.

Gee  or it could be that he doesn't have a car with tires designed specifically for him,no traction control, the competition is 1000 times better than when he was at Ferrari, his teammate can actually race him and nobody is intimidated by him.

In 04 Schumi dominated right? Against who? Barichello's 2 wins,7 second places and 5 third's? Says it all when Rubens gets 14 podiums.I'd have liked to see how he did against a better teammate, but wait he is and Nico is embarasing him

None of that removes the fact he's older and has a two year break.

I don't think anyones arguing Schumacher isn't past his peak surely.

He's preformed well in cars that weren't so good.

Maybe it's telling that teams have been happy to give him firm number 1 status though?

I'm not really arguing about how good he is, just that I think age has had a fairly significant impact.

It must be comforting to live in a world of absolutes where your always right, and nothing can ever be considered.

Please tell me your not eligible for jury duty. Or to vote.

I AM considering............
Car
Tires
Teammate
Level of the competition

Please enlighten me with more wisdom.

In F1 the only way to tell how good you are is how you perform against your teammate since he is the only guy driving the same car. Yes Schumacher DOMINATED F1,but his teammates were Herbert,Irvine,Barichello etc, and now that he has a decent teammate he is being thrashed! Might wanna "consider'' it.

Michael was an amazing talent and yes in his later years with ferrari he spent alot of time up front (like the vettel today) because he had the better car but that takes nothing away from the fact that he WAS the better driver. It is always said that the better driver always finds the better team which provides him with the better car. Schumi was the best at over taking at the time and the only one who beat him in 05 and 06 was alonso which had a criminal master mind (Briatore) as a principal. So you cant look at the trouble he having now (which is not as much as it seems to the untrained eye) and compare that to his legacy because is Legacy will always stand in Formula one.
